Patient Sims that are referred to the surgery table will no longer leave in the middle of surgery.
Fixed in Patch 1.58.63
It is an event and I have sent a link to my save for reference.
@NinjaDogBuilds I went in your save, and as you described, the collapsed sim does go to the first surgery table, and get up half way thru. And then you can not continue on with the surgery with that sim. During my testing, I didn't get a collapsed sim, so it seems to me that the collapsed sim might be the glitch, or that sim in particular.
What I would suggest, is to cut your losses with the collapsed sim. Once I took her to surgery, it checked off assisting her. And then I treated one of the other two adult sims, one with surgery and I was able to get the 1/3 surgeries done.
@crinrict I would say it is likely the collapsed sim might be the thing bugged here? Seems that @tchrystall24 also says collapsed sim.
@arterialrainbow and @novastarss75 was the issue with you a collapsed sim, as well?

The problem didn't start till after the collapsed sim appeared. I would guess that is the issue as well.
I had this happen the first (and so far only) time my doctor got a collapsed Sim; however just now I had it happen with one that started out on the exam bed when the doctor got to work, and was the first patient she examined.
Also found another workaround though: When that first Sim gets stuck on the wrong surgery table, leave them there and go examine others until you find one in need of surgery, then send *them* to surgery and they will have to stay on the right bed. This worked for me to get one surgery checked off today while that first guy was stuck in the wrong surgery room.
This issue has been happening to me now that my sim is high enough in the doctor career. The collapsed sim comes in, I bring them to the surgery machine and begin. The sim then gets up, goes to the other machine and cannot be interacted with anymore. Thankfully my sim doesn't get stuck and can resume their work. I was able to do a regular surgery with another sim later in the day, and there were no issues even though the "collapsed sim" is still lying in the second surgery machine.
Not sure if this information is helpful, especially since the collapsed sim still a problem, but at least it can be worked around until the glitch is fixed.
I have same issue on ps4 with human sim. Eventually got the 3 surgeries done through diagnosing patients, which worked fine. Unfortunately for everyone experiencing this glitch, your totally borked at level 8, because basically the same issue happens with the pregnant sim you need to complete the promotion task, and that ONLY occurs as a work emergency event. Definitely an issue connected to the surgical emergency work events, the only difference with pregnant sim was that they just change clothes and leave, sometimes before even getting to the table. Resetsim failed to help, as did removing the surgery station in the smaller room that the event surgeries seem to prefer to go to as same issue occurred on the other station. Spent hours yesterday trying to figure out a way to continue without using cheat to promote and ruining trophy unlocks on my save but I eventually gave up. Is extremely frustrating.
