[FIXED] [GTW] Retail food items vanished

Yeah, I totally agree that they seem to have overlooked retail lots in the new clean up and this needs fixing.

The community lots are probably by design because that's how it was supposed to be from the start it just didn't work (I'm thinking there was actually a bug fixed). I remember asking a guru about it on twitter a while ago and they said the lots are supposed to get cleaned up just like they did in Sims 3

I'm guessing the solution for the people that used it as a restaurant workaround, they probably need to find someone that makes them a mod or find a new solution ☹️

Most definitely a patch thing.

It's always a bit hard to distinguish which stuff came with the patch and what comes with the EP but usually, if it's related to base game functionality (or in this case Get To work), it came with the patch.

I put over 100 hours into food prep for my shops. Luckley, I saved each of them on completion. If I had lost them I would have gone to play another game for awhile.  I would like to add that herbal remedies and mood potions that you buy from your sims aspirations menus also get cleaned up as well. And, no, i have never used mods in Sims 4.

I am having this exact same issues and I like the other posters put a lot of time into cooking almost every dish (twice now), just to have it disappear.  I have all the DLC (Except for spooky stuff) and I do use mods. I will do some testing in my experimental save and play mod free with a new family. I'll be sure to update my findings here. 

Just to give you some background info: I downloaded an NPC restaurant and placed in Windenburg. I was able to visit once with my club and it worked great. I decided to have a family purchase the business and I ran it a couple times with no problem. I wanted to add more food and modify the restaurant and I saved and rotated to a new family. I visited with my other club and the food was completely wiped. I then tried again to fill the restaurant with food and after testing it again, the food was wiped. 

This is a big thing for my style of gameplay, and I am really hoping it will be fixed, thanks. 

I have this problem also in a brand new game in a different PC.

I noticed my bakery had been swept clean after I changed households, it feels a lot like TS3 clean up as everything is removed, no out of stock signs, no stinky spoilt dishes, just lots of empty shelves! It's never happened before, but as I've only recently started playing a different household I can't say when the bug happened.

edit. I went back to the bakery household and restocked every thing, then opened the business and instructed one staff member to sell and another to restock. Then I swapped households when the lot loaded I saw that my Simself was at the bakery so I chose to go to him at the bakery. It was open and all the fridges were full.  I played the game for a while had him buy stuff which was restocked fairly quickly, then sent him home.

Closed the game, did a backup, updated the game today, fired up the game at that same household and thought I'll send him out for some cake. But when he got to the bakery it was completely empty. So I swapped to the bakery household again, had them fill the fridges again, manage the employees again. He sacked the salesman because he wasn't and promoted the restocker because he did, and returned the baker to his home lot before swapping back to my Simself household again.

Again when the lot loaded my Simself was at the bakery, so once more I chose him as the active Sim, and once again the stock was still in the fridges the only difference this time was that there was a random townie staff member cleaning. I stayed and watched until my Simself was exhausted and saw that both staff members sold items although neither of them restocked anything so pretty soon the shelves were full of out of stock signs.

The whole system seems borked, it's so frustrating to watch!

I love the way my Simself can go to the bakery to stock up on treats, but I can't figure out a way of making it consistent. Tomorrow I will have him travel back there and see what's what but I am not holding out much hope. 

Update: This weekend i created a new save with no mods and a new family.. I downloaded a store from the gallery and placed my own food in the bakery cases and vege's in the lice fridge. I kept the ownership to my new family, saved the game and switched to another pre-made household. I visited the bakery with this family, but all food that were in the bakery cases were gone. The lice fridge was not accessible as my sim would not follow through with opening the lice fridge to view the vegetables. The action was dropped every time i tried. I heard others having this problem as well.

I hope this helps EA to see it's not just a mod issue, it can happen in a vanilla game either in owned food based retail or NPC.

The bug after some time in a save not appearing, now has come back in full force be in retail lots, be in community lots. And also even if you are the owner of the retail and come back later to the same store as the owner yourself.

Please EA fix it, makes bakeries and retail almost useless and unplayable in Get to Work!

Since tents haven't worked - ahem - for sleeping since the GTW patch, I've always sent my Sims to the same cottage in GF. Before the GT patch I could have Sim households leave food in the fridge for the next visitors. Now, the food left behind is broken. My Sims can't eat it and I need to drag it into the world to enable them to throw it away. Yet another blow to rotational play.

Food seems to be broken on any "community" lot for players that rotate between household in the same "save."
