    The era of heavy metal square dancing has waned. Sims will now only autonomously perform Cowpoke Dance if Ranch music is playing.

    Fixed in Patch 1.103.250/1.84

same here... I designed a really nice rooftop night club before horse ranch and I thought I'll give it a try now with my sim, everyone is doing country dancing, except my own sim. But it looks a bit weird. Could be that some do it, but others should do the regular dancing. I don't like it very much... but I'll squint and pretend it looks like everyone is dancing normally? xD (edit: even ghosts do the country dance loool)
