Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
What is your current game version number? 1.91.186.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? EP: Get to work, Get together, City living, Cats & Dogs, Seasons, Get Famous, Island Living, Discover University, Eco Lifestyle, Snowy Escape, Cottage Living, High School Years GP: Outdoor Retreat, Spa Day, Dine Out, Vampires, Parenthood, Jungle Adventure, Strangerville, Realm of Magic, Dream Home Decorator, My Wedding Stories, Werewolves SP: Luxury Party, Perfect patio, Cool kitchen, Spooky, Paranormal, Movie hangout, Romantic garden, Kid room, Backyard, Vintage glamour, Bowling, Fitness, Toddler, Laundry, My first pet, Moschino, Tiny living, Nifty Knitting Kits: Country Kitchen, Courtyard Oasis, Blooming rooms, Carnivale, My little campers
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Have female sim with no body hair either bathe or woohoo. Option to shave hair appears on menu for shower/bath.
What happens when the bug occurs? Once female sim changes to bathe or woohoo, body hair is applied in one or multiple spots. If I go into CAS, I can delete the body hair and it remains gone when returning to game (if time does not reset), but the moment the female sim changes to bathe, body hair returns. The body hair is not necessarily the same as before. Sometimes chest hair and then leg, or back and chest and then leg and arm, or leg and then chest, etc.
What do you expect to see? Regardless of female sim activity, no body hair should ever appear because it was not assigned to the sim and enable body hair growth is not checked. Body hair settings set in CAS should save and remain for that sim regardless of bathing.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. 1.90.358.1030, 1.90.375.1020 , or 1.91.186.1030 Game was unplayable for me from 7/26 to 9/2. I noticed the issue on 9/2 and since then.
My game is affected by the time resetting/not saving (groundhog day) bug. I me too-ed that thread. I think this issue may be related to that.
This is only happening on female sims, not male sims and occurs 99% of the time (only exception was between cas save and time reset bug). I have not played in copperdale, so it does not appear to be related to that world specifically. It occurs when sim lives in Willow creek and sulani (the only two that I have checked).
Here is what I have tried with mods removed:
- game repair with clearing origin cache - multiple times (almost daily since 7/27)
- clear cache (clear contents of cache & cachestr folders, delete onlinethumbnailfolder, avatarcache, localthumbcache files) and delete any/all lastexception files - I do this between every single time I load the game
- factory reset - once (7/28)
- created new sim (with HSY enabled and without)
- disabled HSY - this appeared to work, but game kept throwing LEs (possible solution?)
- disabled HSY - Saved sim to library while still in cas after removing body hair (checked to make sure every outfit type and number had body hair removed and hair growth not enabled), then opened new game and applied the saved sim to the new game. Game started throwing LEs so I am not sure if this is related to HSY or not. I cannot get a reliable test on this possible solution.
- enabled HSY - applied saved sim from above to new game, seemed to be okay until time reset when sim went off lot and then issue came back at next bathing instance.
Mod solution:
I applied mod that restricts body hair to males and that solved my issue with body hair on the female sim.

@GoodNeighbors I just tested this, and it works....are you kidding me...THAT'S its trigger? No one can tell me that this was a good design decision to only have sleep grow any kind of hair, maybe one of the triggers, but the ONLY trigger? SMH, I'm laughing at this, it's so silly.
Thanks for leaving this message, it definitely helped me, and I hope it can help other people.
- irishdragon73 years agoSeasoned Veteran@SimGuruRitzy I have been trying to get a video for you. I cannot submit a save because the save resets. Unfortunately, my computer is crashing when I try to record my game. I am still working on trying to find a way to reallocate resources so I can get both the game and my video recorder running at the same time.
