    Sims that confront their fear of the dark will not continue to be affected by the Afraid of the Dark Scared Moodlet buff.

    Fixed in Patch 1.97.42/1.73

I believe I may have found a solution. It may not last forever, but effectively what happened was my sim who was struggling with this issue got the fear again naturally. I do not know if adding in the fear again with cheats works, but in my experience, the sim naturally just got it again. I had the sim stand outside during daytime to see if they were still getting the scared moodlet, which they were not (it seems that with the actual fear it only triggers during the actual night). I then went into settings and disabled wants and fears, removing the trait. So far, it seems as if the sim is no longer getting this bug.

    I had the issue this weekend. I tried a number of solutions. The one that seemed to stick was when I used a cheat to give the affected sim the fear again. I then had her go outside in the dark while confident with the want active. The fear then immediately went away as the want registered complete. I then *immediately* had the sim travel to another lot before the moodlet could fire. Maybe I just got lucky on the last attempt. When I tried resetting the fear without leaving the lot the moodlet would pop up after about 15 seconds at speed 1. At any rate, the issue hasn't cropped up again yet for that sim. It does seem a bit hit or miss. I had another sim get the fear and conquered it no problem. Maybe two things are happening close together that cause it to not clear properly?

      My adult sims is afraid of the dark and a list of other stuff.  I just put a monster light in his room.  It's not realistic but he slept the night without waking up.  I need to figure out how to overcome these things.

      Fear of the Dark

      Fear of Crowded Places

      Fear of Death

      His traits are

      Artisan

      Freegan

      Horticulturist

      I have no clue how he developed those fears.  This is wild.
