Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Play a save file on long lifespan, open & exit CAS
What happens when the bug occurs? When I loaded the game after making the the update, everything appeared normal. I had disabled my script mods before opening the game but left the CAS and build CC I have downloaded alone. I opened CAS to test out new CAS features like body hair & sexual preferences. After closing CAS and returning to live mode, I noticed that all of my household sims' lifespans were set to age up, even though none were close to aging up before entering CAS. Once I hit play, my two young adults aged into adults, my child sim aged into a teenager, and my two infant sims in their bassinets aged into toddlers. I didn't notice any impact on the family's dog, though. I exited the family but unfortunately I saved after exiting CAS before I noticed their age discrepancies so I couldn't undo the change without cheats. This wouldn't have been an issue (except the toddlers) because I could have modified their ages using cheats-- however, I realized once entering the world that this happened to every single sim in my save file. This includes played and unplayed households. It killed off many elder sims.
What do you expect to see? I wouldn't have expected the ages of sims to change upon exiting CAS.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. Issue started occurring after 7/26/2022 update. I disabled mods and opened a new save file to test it, but the issue still occurred.
I play on long lifespan, and based on word of mouth/Twitter, I'm hearing that this bug impacts long lifespan save files but hasn't had an impact on normal save files. I wish I would have backed up my save files before updating the game, because I can't get those elderly sims back now. It would also be extremely time consuming to modify every single sim's age using cheats.
