[FIXED] Lot taxes seem too low

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
What is your current game version number? PC: 1.63.133.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Up to and including Tiny Living
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Check your sims' billing information
What happens when the bug occurs? Across 6 of 7 households, the lot taxes are only 300 simoleons even though the underlying lot values vary from 56k to 430k (excluding personal inventory).
What do you expect to see? The lot taxes to vary based on 'all the objects on the lot and the lot's value' as the description says.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. This happened after the new billing system was added with the June 3/20 game update ( PC: 1.63.133.1020 )

Here's a screenshot of the tooltip saying what the Lot Taxes should be based on:

Here's a screenshot of the billing information, you can see that it the lot taxes are only 300 simoleons and I can confirm I saw the same across approx a bunch of different saves (a minimum of 10, and 2 of the saves had much lower lot values & the lot taxes were only 226 simoleons & 183 simoleons respectively). You can also see in the Bills & Utilities screenshot that the prior bills, which this household had not actually got yet as it was still early Monday morning, were much higher. (There is no power and water cost as this was the first time I had loaded this particular save).

Their lot value was and when I added the value of their personal inventory it was 80k (this particular household has the highest lot & asset value of the sims' households I looked at).

Contrast these lot taxes on this tiny home (tiny residential lot), with a lot value of almost 15k and approx 900 simoleons in the sims' personal inventory (the other one for which I have no screenshot had bills of 183 simoleons on lot value of 12.2k & no personal inventory):

So it appears that at the low end there is a lot tax calculation being done, but it seems to cap out at 300 simoleons.

Also, re the 'removed mods', that was a number of months ago and I regularly delete my localthumbcache file and repair my game and did so after the game update. 🙂

Best regards,

Jennifer

  • You pay your new bills, all the new bills, keep track of all the bills. We think you can do it. So, hope you like this update too as we have adjusted Lot Taxes to be more appropriate per Lot.

    Fixed in Patch 1.67.45/ 1.32
