Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Mac
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.103.315.1220
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? snowy escape cats and dogs get to work strangerville parenthood vampires dine out romantic garden
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? 1. Own furniture. Own a kid's violin in this example. 2. Move to a new unfurnished house and keep your existing furniture. 3. Attempt some interaction where the object must be owned by you. For example, try to put the violin in your inventory and it is greyed out and says "you don't own this object". It will also not count as owned by you for whims and aspirations, for example if your sim has the Successful Lineage aspiration the violin will not count toward "$1000 spent on kid's furniture"
What happens when the bug occurs? After a move none of your furniture is owned by your Sims anymore. You can still act on the objects, and newly purchased furniture will belong to you. But it's as if all the furniture you brought with you is now part of a house you don't own. it took me a while to figure out the reason that some interactions were missing.
What do you expect to see? I expect the furniture to behave normally.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No
In build mode I could sell the items, so in most cases I replaced the items and ate the cost difference. The biggest problem was that my plants aren't owned by me anymore and I was working on the Freelance Botanist aspiration and have to start my garden over ☹️ I'm wondering if anyone knows any cheats that could help me get my house back to normal?
This thread reported the same issue (https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/FIXED-Items-no-longer-owned-after-moving/m-p/7964708) but it was closed as fixed.
