Oh my EFFIN G!!!!!! This bug is driving me crazy!
Here’s the scenario:
-infant needs sleep
-parent places infant in crib
-infant cries and tries to “go night night”
-parent (or any adult) comes and takes infant out of crib and places on floor
-parent picks infant up and takes back to crib
-parent places infant into crib
-the cycle repeats infinitely
Is anyone else having this issue??? It literally makes me scream obscenities at my computer screen. 🤬🤯😤

Yes! And you can’t cancel it or prevent it by trying to queue something else!
It doesn’t happen every time, but often enough to be annoying. I think it’s worse if their sleep is actually in the red? If you put them to sleep early while it’s low but still green it seems less likely to happen.

@JennySpectreYes I have the same! I could stop it by letting the Sim Adult do something else (Like cooking) but it's frustrating yes...What actually helps is the cheatcode and then clicking on the Sim and reset the sim...That's the only thing that actually works.

This is driving me nuts. As soon as I see the infant's face in the parent's menu, I stop the game and send the parent to far-off lands. It's the only way the kid gets any sleep!
- 5leepy_5eb2 years agoSeasoned Rookie@JennySpectre I had to fire my buttler cause they kept taking the baby out... now the parent does it, even if the infant falls asleep, they just take them out and put them on the floor... It's becoming really frustrating T-T

This is indeed an issue that is still happening!
For now I'm avoiding to play the save where I have a family with infants, else I'll go insane lol

Please leave the infant in the crib! It's the high chair all over again. It's worse if you have multiple adults they'll all queue to check it at the same time - sometimes the infant will call out to the other parent for food, bedtime, whatever, when you've already queued one parent to check it.

I can't even play the game anymore because of how awful this glitch is. If anyone knows of a way to fix it long term, please let me know!

Yeah, both parents and nannys tend to take the infants out of crib an prefer to place them on the floor or outside on the lawn or snowy ground. So there they lay most of the time, the crib is not used a lot. I have given up on trying to make them not go to the crib and interrupt the infant's sleep and instead I'm trying to get used to seeing infants on the floor/ground sleeping, while animals and sims walk all around them or over them and nanny watches TV as usual. Can we please have nannys who actually work instead of being so VERY attracted to the TV? Could they give the needy cat or dog some attention, food and cuddle instead or fix the laundry while the infant is sleeping IN THE CRIB? Can we also please have nannys which we can hire long term, until we choose to end the contract? They leave very fast and the family is without help. If they leave the lot, social services takes the kid away when no nanny is in place. This is escpecially important for us who play rotationally as we can't have full control of every household at once and which nanny is actually leaving and where. Let them stay until we decide they are not needed anymore or until the kids have grown up to teens, then the contract should end automatically if we haven't done it already by then.
The nannys the game provide currently are basically babysitters as they leave the household after just a short time. A nanny is a different thing, usually a contracted person who stays as long as the contract lasts.
It would be great to get a menu when hiring an NPC, just like the menus when adopting. There we would be able to see available nannys, maids, butlers, garderners repairmen, ranch hands etc. From that menu we should see their price, be able to call them and hire them. Maybe we could also be able to choose what outfit we want them to wear when they work for us and which tasks they should do and not do. If we want the nanny to cook or not, or if the butler shouldn't attend to the kids so that the nanny can do that instead etc. Here we should also be able to set how long we want the contract to last and during which hours they should work. Permanent should be one of the options. That would be fun, a bit like in real life.
- 2 years agoSame problem here, and it's driving me absolutely insane. And it happens even if I have quickly ordered the adult to go and do something else - the game will interject an additional action of taking the infant out of the crib before going on to do what I actually told them to do. >.>
