[FIXED] Phone Calls from Household Members

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PlayStation 5
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Occasionally (10% - 49%)
What is your current game version number? 1.55.6.3400
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Everything
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Have a household member away from the other household members.
What happens when the bug occurs? The household member gets a phone call from other household members asking them if they should have a baby or if they are going to visit.
What do you expect to see? No phone calls from household members
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? On console - never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

Getting calls from household members when off lot with another household member. It's a little awkward.

Mom, I'm not sure this is a question you should be asking your teenage child.

Mom, you just died like an hour ago? What do you want from me?

Mom, I'm just at the spice festival with Dad. I haven't left and I'm just a child!

You are welcome I guess? I live here you know.

Grandpa, I'm not sure you should take career advice from a toddler. (Not same household anymore but was)

    • The call is not coming from inside the house–you'll stop getting invitational phone calls from your own Household Members.

    Fixed in Patch 1.109.185/1.98

@AnneSims34 I merged your post with the main thread. The baby question isn't related to Neighborhood stories. It's a different kind of story progression that you can't turn off. They shouldn't happen when you're on a different lot so def a bug though

As for the other question, not sure where's that coming from but if you get a message about it, it's also not NS. Neighborhood stories happen in the background to NPCs only and you only see what happens if you click on the option on the mailbox (did you do that ?)

Did you use any interaction to any Sim to encourage them to change jobs ?

Thank you! That's good to know. I haven't done anything that would make the sim want to change jobs I don't think, I was actually trying to level up her skills so she could get promoted, and she had the new years resolution to get promoted, though that expired.

I had messed with some neighborhood stories settings for other families, but my active household's has been off since I started playing with them. I did click the mailbox to see the recent neighborhood stories the same sim morning as when my sim changed jobs on her own, could that have influenced it?

I also have been playing with this family since last July, but I've saved as several times since then. Would that have caused any problems?

@AnneSims34 The message just shows you what happened. It doesn't trigger any extra stories.

Did the teen live in the dorms in Brichester ? Like she was in a different household and you played with her when you got the message for the mom changing careers ?

No she still lives in the same household. I had her travel to the Foxbury commons lot before her class but she still lives in the same household as her mom.

  • I don't know why it didn't let me do this before but here goes.

    I'm on PC.

    Game Version: 1.107.151.1020 DX9

What Happened: The son left home not one hour earlier, gets a phone call from his father whom he lives with, (he is a child) with this dialogue option.

What Should Happen: this dialogue option should only appear for teen? young adult/adult sims who have moved out of their parents house.

How You Can Replicate It: Go off the home lot with your child sim and wait for the call. I suppose having multiple child sims as I do would help increase the odds of getting the call.
