[FIXED] Plants shrink after harvesting/ Turns into harvestable

@benlow11 I had the same problem all of my season plants (my flowers) reverted back to the just planted stage only my sage and basil remained in the mature blossom stage. I exited the game before it saved went back in and my plans were there and I haven't had that problem since now my sage and basil are doing that miniature "looks like a harvestable" issue that everybody else is reporting.

  @dbussell I did the same thing the first time it happened. The second time I just shift clicked each one that was supposed to be growing and put them back in the state they were before. A bunch of them reverted again though and my money tree that was in the planted state had bugs flying where the leaves were supposed to be and a bunch of the plants are still getting weeds. Oh and winter and summer plants started growing even though it is fall. I haven't seen any that look like miniature harvestables though and I can't harvest them. I will have to keep my eye out for them.

    @benlow11 I had NO IDEA there was a way to shift click (x+o PS4) with testing cheats on to force a plant! Set Gardening State -> Growth Stage -> Blossoming! I had no idea this exists! I've been playing a never ending game of whackamole since FRIDAY! It's been obsurd. I have been trying to move my perfect fruits, vegetables, herbs & flowers onto Vertical Gardens when the game will let me. It has gone BAD!
    
    When I try to move almost ANY plant from where ever it happens to be it shrinks down into the earth or planter in a black dirtball OR into the miniature bud state OR even worse a white dot that won't grow in any way at all. Also, while the plants are just sitting there in the process of growing they just suddenly shrink back down in the dirt stage all on their own! This makes waiting for a bush to grow IMPOSSIBLE for the purposes of taking a cutting & grafting. I mean IMPOSSIBLE! Because the moment the Tulip is large enough to take a cutting the Chrysanthemum has shrunk back into the ground & now it's at LEAST another day to try & graft. I've harvest NOTHING in 3 ingame weeks, moved no plants either & the random shrinking keeps happening. I've restarted my game, my console & took a personal nap to try & not cry.
    
    I just did the math & in trying to graft 22 plants & move them into planters / vertical gardens to load to the gallery I've spent 28 hours on this BS. TWENTY EIGHT HOURS!!!!!! I had the tv on in the living room & my husband was double teaming it with me Sunday while we were trying to clean & deal with a broken toilet at the same time. The toilet has a broken handle & the garden keeps shrinking! I'm exhausted. Knowing set plant stage exists would have saved me a LOT of aggrivation. WHY did Maxis add the PS4 controls overlay (which is garbage by the way) if it in no way actually tells you the controls? Even some of the basic controls! I mean when my sim is just standing still the only control it shows is "x select" I mean come on there are more available controls than that! Then when I move the camera 7 show up sometimes flashing sometimes static. I've turned them off because they are wrong & dont work. When you hover on an item on PC the hotkey pops up, why not show that same hotkey on console? This random scrolling sidebar would INFURIATE PC gamers if it were a constant blipping hotkey panel & they'd have your heads for it. Yet again console is treated differently & gets a lesser UI choice than PC.
    
    Well at least now I know I can force the plants to stop playing whack a mole with me. Thank you.

Same. My plants keep collapsing randomly all at once. It's as if the season has changed and they go back to just the lump of dirt even though they are all sheltered. But the season hasn't changed. It can happen every day or every few days. The longest I've made it without them collapsing is a week. Sometimes the quality changes also but not every time. (Sim days and week. Not real time) My Sim relies on the plants for money and the freelance crafter career. Can't harvest from a lump of dirt...

  @BumblingJuicebox I also had several indoor/sheltered plants collapse back into lumps of dirt when the season changed. This never happened in my game prior to the EL game patch. I waited for several in-game days and the plants showed no signs of regrowing so I started to move them back into my household inventory (to save them for whenever some of these new gardening bugs are fixed) but as soon as they were in my inventory they looked like fully-grown plants again! So I moved them back from my household inventory to the indoor planters and they seem fine again, like moving them into the household inventory reset them or something. So maybe try moving your lumps of dirt into your household inventory and then back into your garden again & maybe it will fix them (until the next season change anyway).

    I find it very interesting, also, as I found that if I had items on a lot that were from debug, came on the lot, were downloaded from the gallery, or were for whatever reason not showing up in the 'Household Collections' in the Sims' Personal Inventory, if I dragged the item into Household Inventory (or grab and delete it to get it there), then drag it back onto the lot, for most items this kicks them in to show up in 'Household Collections'. (This trick doesn't work on debug fish.) Sometimes the item showed up in collections as soon as it was in Household Inventory. So... not sure if it's a related thing (as you said, maybe a reset or something), but it's an interesting trick. 🤔

  Same for me and it's really getting frustrating. It's like everyday I start from scratch in my greenhouse.

This is EXACTLY what's happening with me! Except I am on PS4 & only base game.
They are perfect quality but now look like mounds as when first planted & can't sell or graft them, nothing.
Have stopped playing because it's getting worse.
Have EA provided an answer or fix? I can't find anywhere.

It seems to happen to me with all my herbs,money trees, forbidden trees, and growfruit... Not trying to sound like a * but I paid a lot of my into this game and I would love if these issues could befised so I can play the way I want to, ya know? It's frustrating bc before the latest update, all seems to be fine.

@benlow11 I use ps4 platform, this has been happening to me for quite a while now, before the eco living update even, infact I feel like it started happening after I added university or island living...its been a while, im trying ro remember around which pack or packs I applied when it started, I just got eco living and it seems to have exacerbated the problem significantly, infact within a day or so all of my "perfect" plants not only reverted back to dirt, but also reverted back to
the "Nice" stage. I cheated ALL of them back to normal and in the same game, I did a save and when it was done, ALL my plants, inside and out were piles of dirt again 🤬... except for 3 alien plants, tentacle tree, bizarre plant and sixam mosquito trap....dirt piles all seek to still be "perfect" stage, for now.
