Did you ever experience the Honey I Shrunk the Basil and Sage Plants issue in-game? No longer! *No Sage or Basil Plants were harmed in the fixing of this issue*.
Fixed in Patch 1.68.154/ 1.33
I'm aware that this thread has about 3-4 issues in it and isn't just about the basil sage issue although that was the main topic of this thread.
If you have ANY of the gardening issues mention in this thread still, please create a new thread. Trying to keep separate issues separate this time.
Since the update (6/3/2020) I have had many of my plants disappear, or rather the revert back to the just planted pile, the pile still tells me what the plant is but the only interactions I can have with it are for freshly planted plants, it has been many dim days and there is no new growth with them, though some do get the need to be watered or fertilized again. As far as I can tell this happens to them when I fertilize a plant. I’m not sure if this is a bug or what is going on, I’m pretty new to the game and the forums. I have only the base game and I play on Xbox one
@malswartz Do you have the Seasons pack? When a plant is out of season it will revert to a pile of dirt. Please hover over the plants and check their season and compare to the current season in that game.
@malswartz I was testing something this afternoon and it reminded me of your comment. In my greenhouse my Sim grafted two plants. I was waiting to see if they would grow correctly afterward. Before:
In a short time - maybe later that Sim day, the tiny Money Trees grew to full grown. I also noticed shortly after that (same day) suddenly over half of the plants were a pile of dirt. All of the trees were also gone (deleted) except the Money Trees. The plants that remained were one tulip plant, 2 orchids, 2 BOP, a Bonsai, and 1 UFO plant. While it was like this I sat there and watched for an entire Sim week. Nothing grew from the dirt piles. The grafted plants did not progress. The plants that were acting normal still produced harvestables and weeds, including after they were harvested:
This is a sheltered, indoor greenhouse with sprinklers, bees, and plenty of tending. I have grown in this greenhouse a great deal and never had any issues whatsoever, at any season or anything. They grow year round and wonderfully.
Another odd thing is the dirt piles are pitch black at night, but not in the day, though they're always well lit and at night the other plants' dirt is normal dirt color. Thought I would include this here in case it was of any use.
Edit: I was just doing a different grafting test on another lot (right across the street from that lot/save), also involving sheltered plants. On this lot I did not see any of the plants reverting to a dirt pile or deleting. The grafting and re-growth behaved as normal aside from the Bird of Paradise shoot not showing up in inventory, and the plant spliced into sage doing the weird 'tiny plant with the tan area at the base thing: Carrot grafted into Sage:
The other plants that I grafted into grew as normal: Lemon & Pear grafted into Pomegranate:
Chrysanthemum & Lily grafted into Snowdrop:
So.... bottom line is that my initial results must have been triggered by some other factors like the greenhouse involving plants in a sunken room planted directly into the ground or some other factor. In both cases/lots there were bee hives in the areas (the greenhouse and indoor room on the second lot).
Yes, this is exactly what has happened to me though in my case it seemed more related to fertilization rather than grafting as I have only grafted two plants, I have actually mostly afraid to do anything much in my garden since, but then today, I finally got some growth again and then two of the regrown plants disappeared again after only being watered. My garden is currently quite unpredictable and unstable. ☹️
I currently have plantains, roses, sage, parsley, and lemons. Only my sage is acting up. It grows at 5 am and turns back into a tiny little thing when I harvest it. I have all packs except Eco lifestyle, tiny living, moscino, luxury party, and fist pet stuff.
I'm currently playing on the updated PS4 version, and I am experiencing the same issue. I have a small garden of perfect plants, and one by one I am watching them turn into dirt mounds. I've waited, hoping they would grow again, but no such luck. I've tried to replant them, using the produce I currently have on hand, but as soon as my Sim has completed the planting process, the dirt pile disappears entirely.
Same here. I play on a Mac without any mods or CC and my plants go back to the planted state and stay that way, mostly after being watered or fertilized. It happens to all types of plants, flowers or trees. I hope the team fixes this soon.
Just trying to find the, Me Too, option. This happens to me, and I dont have EL enabled anymore, but it did before then. All new games, have not tried any old saves.
@allykatz77 In my case it happens due to the Pre-EL Patch, as I've never purchased EL, and I don't own Seasons either. I only have one saved game with multiple households (one of which I was playing when I reported the gardening bugs originally and got merged into the early version of this feed). Welcome to the enormous feed, where one day, maybe we might see a fix to some of the gardening bugs (trying to be optimistic here).
