I moved Mods to the desktop.
Moved accountDataDB to the desktop.
Copied back a September 17th version (pre-update backup) of UserSetting.
Started a New Game, made a Sim, bought a house. Moved in.
New Reaper events showed up. Steps in each showed up.
Completed getting the mail and reading it. Got a reward.
Then went to Manage Worlds. (As a test because of issues I've read about on this thread)
Did nothing. Did not enter CAS. Immediately went back to the household.
The progress steps in the Reapers GUI were now blank.
However, rewards from the previous event of this summer were in build/buy. Thank you Lilsimsie for suggesting keeping a backup of the UserSetting file.
This thread and issues with the Reapers Event should not be marked as a Workaround. No suggestion offered so far marked as a Solution.
Merely starting the event and doing two steps, then going to Managed Worlds results in a blank GUI thereafter.
Console users are reporting the same issue and they do not have the option to undertake anything suggested so far. And indicates the root cause is the game code. Not the users.
The only suggestion that will work is this: Put everything back the way you had it and wait until the emergency patches come out over the next week or so. Then try to play the event.
This debacle is a rerun of the Love Struck deployment.
@LadyAofPineappleSame. The video they had helped with the hype because it sounds like it is fun. But it being this broken, its greatly disappointing.
I don't like this "work around" at all.
@LadyAofPineappleThis just came in from the broken mods website Scarlet's Realm. The solution regarding BetterBuildBuy might interest many with planting issues.
The suggestion regarding not pausing via MCCC's setting or in any way at all might solve many of the GUI issues.
I guess I have to eat some of my words 🙂 The problems with the Event aren't entirely game code (though I would argue NOT pausing at all to do anything is.)

There are several mods that are conflicting with the new Grim Reaper Rewards Event.
See the info below (thanks to amethyst lilac) for the list of mods that are causing issues
For the Reaper’s Rewards Event:
• TOOL: blocks the rewards
• No Discovery Quests by Frankk: blocks the rewards
• Refreshed Main Menu by Simmatically, maybe other main menu overrides: blocks the rewards• BetterBuildBuy: turn off Organized Debug and restart the game to complete the planting objectives. It is NOT enough to remove the mod. You must disable Organized Debug or repair the game.
• NPCO by Bosselady: breaks Expedite the Mail Delivery
While the challenge is active (you have or are supposed to have tasks to complete):
• MCCC or any other mod that pauses the game on loading: do not use pause on zone. It will break the rewards UI.
• Do not pause, save, and close the game. It will break the rewards UI.
• Do not pause and go into CAS. It will break the rewards UI.
• Do not pause and do anything else that involves going through a loading screen. It will break the rewards UI.
If your rewards UI is open but blank, do not save. If you have saved, or if you don’t save but it remains blank after re-opening anyway, delete accountDataDB.package from your The Sims 4 folder. You will have to repeat some tasks if you’ve already completed some, but they should be functional (unless something causes them to break again). This will affect your Happy Home Login rewards, which is fixable using other workarounds.
Once you’ve completed this week’s tasks and everything is functioning, it’s recommended to back up your accountDataDB.package file, so that if something happens to the rewards UI between now and when the next set of rewards are available, you’ll have this week’s completed. That is where the live data (what you’re doing now) is stored. The actual rewards (any that aren’t one-time things, like potions or books) are unlocked with your account
@HALirious9k Well... Try the don't pause the game for any reason at all suggestion. If that doesn't work, then I guess it is the game code, at least on consoles.
It seems kind of ridiculous to ask players not to pause there game while completing the tasks, like if I have to go to work I am not going to leave my game open and loose a bunch of time or have my sim die, set fire to the house or other odd things. It should be thought about pausing the game and closing it! Also there are SO many people who play with mods and CC so making people have to do a work around that requires us to remove the mods and do files deleting and renaming is insane!
