[FIXED] Relationship/Telemetry Hooks LastException

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Rarely (0% - 9%)
What is your current game version number? 1.96
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All except for Nifty Knitting and Simtimates kit.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I'm not really sure. It sort of just happened. But it seems to be due to relationships and telemetry hooks.
What happens when the bug occurs? I'm not sure, but I was looking at the Sim info panel on a San Sequoia household around the time it occurred.
What do you expect to see? I expect to see no errors since I'm not using mods right now.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. Installation of Growing Together expansion.

Since most of my mods are currently broken, I started this save with no mods and explored around a bit. I wasn't watching my Sims 4 folder because I wasn't expecting anything weird to happen. I hope the error file can provide some insight because I'm not sure what happened.

    Fixed in Patch 1.97.42/1.73

    Since this was the root cause for the fixed pregancy issue, I'm going to mark this as fixed as well.

    Leaving open for feedback for a little while though

    @crinrict Hm.. I loaded about four different households in a new save on a vanilla folder and none of them threw an error. Not sure why the first save kept doing that.

    @RickxAbsinthe43 If it's small enough, you can just upload it to a third party site without zipping but zipping is fine as well. Best to used google drive, one drive, wetransfer or drop box.

    @RickxAbsinthe43 I can duplicate the LE on your save. Not sure what's going on. I placed your Sim in a new save and also go the LE.

    Please leave your save up so Maxis can grab it to find out what's wrong with this and fix. Meanwhile, I do think you can just play on (keep a backup) as it doesn't seem to do anyhting other than throw the LE.

    So I did some testing using the save provided and what it seems to be happening is that somehow the target Sim to whom the game is trying to add a family dynamic relationship bit doesn't exist. This could be for several reasons, but my theories are:

    • Neighbourhood stories yeeted the Sim into oblivion (they died due to story progression)
    • The Sim being mentioned was manually deleted somehow (e.g. a Sim placed from the gallery but the user deleted their family members in CAS)
    • Something else that I'm missing

    I don't think this is exclusive to the new family dynamics or anything but I think the game is just pushing a lot of new relationships onto Sims because of them and it's exacerbating the error. It could technically happen from any relationship bit, the code assumes that the target Sim exists.

    tl;dr: The second Sim ID mentioned in the MCLEs doesn't point to a Sim but it also doesn't point to an object, it points to NoneType (nothing) and the game is mostly choking on telemetry data.
