    Spellcasters with all spells learned and maxed out no longer lose those when downloaded from the Library/Gallery Muscle memory perhaps?

    Fixed in Patch 1.68.154/ 1.33

@Nettis2009 Seems I come back to Sims after a 7-month hiatus and this still has not been addressed. Very classy.

    I downloaded a sim into my save. He was supposed to be an all knowing teacher since I had worked on him in an earlier save.

    All perks still around. All potions and spells were gone.

      @SilentK008Merging a spellcaster into an existing household while in-game Live Mode will work for now.

        I did exactly that -- merging a saved master with a full spellbook on live mode. It didn't work.  All perks in place, but zero spells and recipes. 

        (5 minutes later)

        Apparently not. It does work if the game is in live mode on a lot.  Thanks very much, everyone who figured this out!
