- Sims are once again able to read Magic Tomes. Time to get back to the spellbooks!

Reason for this Issue is because EA removed the Object Tags from the Object Criteria Test in spells_MagicTome_Read/ spells_MagicTome_Read_UseMagic, instead of removing the whole Object Criteria Test.
Will add a temporary Fix to my Improved Spells Mod soon, but this is an easy Fix and will hopefully be fixed asap by EA.
I was absolutely horrified when I saw another patch release when I logged in this morning. I don't know if it broke anything else yet, but it didn't fix the magical tomes issue.

@SovereignSimsIt's great that there is a mod but I don't play with mods, never have and the game should work without them. This is just awful - how every update breaks the game and with the prices EA takes for their expansion packs we really should be able to play the game as intended, which is obviously not the case. I am so annoyed.
I hate mods and never play with them, so it's very unfortunate that only modders seem to be able to fix all these problems with the game. Maybe EA needs to take some of their profits and hire more people or something. What I generally do is travel to the magic place until I learn transportalate, then I make sure my sim always transportalates after that. Between that and dueling for knowledge it's usually fairly quick after that to level up to max power and spell/potion knowledge. It is WAY more convenient to be able to read tomes though, especially when I've spent 8 previous generations collecting them ALL.

I have found a work around for this!! If you sell all the books in your bookshelf and only have Tomes in it, make your spellcaster a bookworm and then use the "read something" interaction they can read them. They will also autonomously read them as they have the bookworm trait. Been working for me all day today - hope it helps someone else!
I've been having the same issue on the Playstation 4! Hopefully this Read Something trick will work even without the Bookworm trait (I really don't want to have to waste Satisfaction Points to change their traits)!
