@lawlyemma I'm going to move your post over to the deco box thread. I don't know which thread you meant to post in but since you don't have the pack, I'm going to assume it's not an issue with your residential lots showing up as rentals.
EDIT: Merged everything into the thread @Pick-a-boo_doo linked. Guessing it's the same issue and this might also be related: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/FR-Items-in-Fridge-Bookshelf-amp-Toybox-Disappear-on-Residential/m-p/13318785#M264805

Thanks for your reply.
At first glance, it looks like your Sim is using the bookshelf normally. However, "Purchase Books" disappears from the bookshelf's pie menu, and you can no longer drag and drop the books directly from your Sim's inventory to the shelf.
Is that not happening on your Sim's bookshelf?I agree that this issue is related to the For Rent pack.
I think the issues raised in that thread are due to a system specific to the For Rent pack. In other words, there is a issue with the definition of the "Residential Rental" lot type. I think that's why items disappear.
It seems like that all items in the "Residential Rental" lot are considered rentals, including items purchased by the household after moving in.
In the issue I presented here, items never disappeared from bookshelves or refrigerators. Sims were able to take books off the shelves and read them, take food from the fridge to eat. And Sims were able to store the book on the bookshelf, the left food into refrigerators, with using "Put Away" pie-menu. However, you cannot move it directly from your Sim's inventory without using "Put Away".
I think this behavior is same as when you use objects in rental or public lots, not in owned lots.
Even if the object is affected, if you put it in your Sim's inventory and use "Move Household", it will not suffer from this issue and will be able to be used normally.
From this, it is possible that the definition of household inventory is broken rather than the type of the lot being incorrect, or that both definitions are broken, I think.I don't have the For Rent pack, and the symptoms are different about the items, but I think the issue presenting here and the issue in the thread are caused by the same thing.
