[FIXED] [S] Unable to complete 'grand meal' after eating fish dinner

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.68.156.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Seasons, Vintage stuff, Parenthood
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Cook Fish dinner (grand meal)
What happens when the bug occurs? The Fish Dinner is longer counted as a grand meal
What do you expect to see? I expect Sims to have the "eat grand meal" event completed after having eaten the fish dinner.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made.

Sims cannot complete the "grand meal" holiday event even though they have eaten the fish dinner. I have not encoutered the same issue when cooking Ham or Turkey grand meal. They also have no longer the "dazed" moodlet after having eaten fish dinner.

I even reinstalled the game but it happened again.

I also have encountered other bugs after installing the latest patch notes but I suppose that they are already discussed in other threads (like Sims preferring cooking a new meal over taking leftovers from the fridge).

  • This is the first time I tried the feast with the fish but yeah, it didn't count for me either.  I even had my sim eat two servings to no avail.

    Okay so this is interesting.  The grand meal never got checked off the progress at the top for the holiday however it apparently still counted.  After the holiday ended, my sim got this notification:

    "Easter was awesome!  Duane had a wonderful time and got to do everything he planned to do."  Again, the feast was never checked off but apparently it still counted.

  • @Loop231 fish dinner is bugged, just cook other type, like turkey dinner. i got this problem on 2020 nov, found out the alternative like 1 month+ later
  • This happens on PS5 as well. Fish dinner doesn't count for the grand meal tradition.

  • The problem is in the object tuning file of the fish dinner (and the Island veggie feast dinner). The consume rules are just not set to grandmeal anymore, but it calls the regular consume tuning files.

    Judging from the tuning, the feast meals Pork Adobo and Kalua Pork that can be made and the pitBBQ also seem affected, though I did not try those.

    This is how the tuning should look like after a fix:

    <V n="consumable" t="enabled">
          <U n="enabled">
            <L n="consume_affordances">
              <T>182710<!--Consume_food_GrandMeal_CTYAE--></T>
              <T>190144<!--Consume_food_toddler_GrandMeal--></T>

    @83bienchenCan confirm, I've tested every single BBQ pit Grand Meal. Other than the Tofurkey, every other dish that you can prepare at a BBQ Pit from the Island Living expansion (including the Fish Dinner, which can also be prepared at regular stoves) stopped working as a Grand Meal.
