I was in the process of trying to complete all collectables and am quite far - only to have the "frequent traveller" lifestyle trait completely ruin my game. I removed the trait through the potion available and a coach. My game shows I don't have the active trait, yet my sim is constantly "bored" from not traveling.
This bug has made my game virtually unplayable. I can't do ANYTHING because my sim is bored. I tried cheat codes, repairing my game and pretty much anything else I read online and it's not working. I don't use mods or CC. This is hands-down the worst bug I've ever had - and I've seen many others have it - and it needs to be fixed immediately.
If anyone has found a workaround for fixing this, please please please respond with instructions how to fix it. I don't even want to bother starting a new save file, because I figure I'll only have the same problem once again.
We all put up with a lot of BS from EA, but this is ridiculous.

I also have this bug! It's made the game unplayable because my sim is always bored (+5 bored). At one point I also had 4 lifestyles.
I've removed the lifestyle with the potion but it still shows as "at risk" in the lifestyle menu.
I completely removed lifestyles and the bored mood remains. The potion to remove the lifestyles is also broken as when my sim drinks it, it stays in inventory and can be used over and over again.
I'd tried repairing the game and use no mods. ☹️
Has anyone fixed this issue in their game?
- Baylon73735 years agoNew Hotshot@PrincessEm98 I use a mod from: Bienchens Mods (Snowy Escape, removelifestylefix) I don't know any other solution. I hope they will fix this very "meaningful" mainfeature of this pack asap. They released an expansion pack in beta stage again. Pay 40 €/$ for happy beta-testing! 🙂

Thanks to @PrincessEm98 ! I downloaded the Bienchens Mods (Snowy Escape, removelifestylefix) and also TheTwelfthDoctor's 3+ Lifestyle Fix from ModTheSims. These two resolved my "4 or 5 lifestyles including one you hate that you can't get rid of even after removing Lifestyles in game options!" issue. (The forum doesn't let you link mods directly but Google is your friend.)
If you're willing to use mods, it might be worth a try. If not, Carefree prevents tense moodlets and might help, depending on which one is "stuck."

I also have this bug.
1. The potion doesn't work; they don't drink it. The lifestyle disappears from their Simology panel but if you click through to the Lifestyle panel it's still there.
2. They have more than three because it seems to be detecting the number in the Simology panel and ignoring the lifestyles I tried to remove.
3. I turned off Lifestyles completely in game options and was still getting popups about lifestyles being gained or at risk, ugh. Imagine my joy when I was told that one of the lifestyles I tried to remove was at risk! (Workaholic; it's the worst.) I had my Sim not do his WFH tasks one day and then sent him to work to slack off, chat with people, and generally do a terrible job. MAN, that's so not the story I want to tell with this Sim, but also I don't want him to be +3 tense whenever he's not at the office.
4. My Sim I WASN'T slacking off with got a "Panicky Work Withdrawal" +3 tense when she was actually doing all her work tasks!
Right now my strategy is to completely disable Lifestyles in saves that don't have them yet--that seems to work--and in this one, to try to cheat lifestyles I don't despise onto them and to make them suck at their jobs. (I'm also testing some mods that are supposed to fix the problem.) I bought Professional Slacker and Carefree to cope. Because he has the Responsible reward trait, I have to pause whenever he goes to the office in order to change the "work hard" behavior that happens by default as a REWARD for that trait.
<rant>GUYS. Reward traits should not be life-crippling disabilities and punished!</rant>I usually wait and let the team shake out the bugs before buying. I should have done that this time. Sims team, I love you and I love your game, but new packs are a bumpy ride. I really want Paranormal Stuff--it looks like a lot of fun--and I'm afraid to buy it until some time has passed and you've had time to do bugfixes.

Yeah, I’m still salty about my super crunchy granola family with a merman conservationist who got Workaholic and the only way to get rid of it (until the mods worked) was to make him slack off and suck at his job. A conservationist who doesn’t care and only does the bare minimum? ☹️ On the other hand, I want him to be able to take his family camping or to celebrate Winterfest without +3 tense panicky work withdrawal.
I told myself he had a brief burnout period and got better after the lifestyle went away.
(He also had people person, active, and outdoorsy, if I recall correctly. His dad, another merman conservationist, somehow* got indoorsy and techie, so he was bored at work because there were no computers and it was outside! But workaholic is THE WORST I HATE IT SO MUCH.)
* Somehow: married a vampire without sun resistance.
