[FIXED] Sim Home from Work but icon still grey

    Fixed an issue where the UI would occasionally indicate that a Sim was at work, when they were actually at home, which would block access to the Sim’s inventory.
    • Note: If a save file created prior to this update contains a Sim that’s already in this bad state, simply traveling to another lot with that Sim will permanently fix this issue.

    Fixed in Patch 1.51.75

    I hope this is fixed for good now .. although it might not be.

    I'm going to lock this thread cause it's best to have a fresh me too count if it still occurs.

    Please open a new thread if you still have this issue.

    Be aware that you need to fix already affected Sims manually by leaving work early or traveling.

@Somber_Cry, You did a great job with your post!  Thank you for taking the time to make the report.  I'm not sure, though, if you mean you just deleted that one family from the game, or if you deleted the whole game.  If just the family, you can zip up the .save file along with the .ver 0-4 for QA and perhaps they can still get a good look at what your were experiencing. Since you are new to The Sims Forums, I'm not sure if you are familiar with finding the slot number for the affected game.  Crinrict gives an example of how to do this here:

There may be an additional issue to look at since it's indicated that when the saves folder was put back into game after resetting the folders that the Vet Clinic had sold itself without the player initiating it.  That doesn't sound right to me, anyway.

    Since replicating an issue is the first step in getting a fix for an issue, I'm glad to hear that hurtle has been cleared 🙂

    @Somber_Cry, your save won't be needed this time but I still recommend reading Crinrict's post I linked to.  It's just good information to have.

      Although we have been able to reproduce the issue, saves are always welcome. Any individual save will always help us identify the root cause.

        Oh, sorry SimQA_Icarus!  I misinterpreted your prior post to mean more saves weren't necessary.  Mea Culpa!

        @Somber_CryI hope you do still have the affected game saves you can upload.

    I am having the same issue. My business career sim shows at work but is at home. It continued like this when we went on vacation for 2 days to the campground and is still like this now that we are back home. The only thing I did to my game was to load a restaurant from the gallery into my town. I have bulldozed this, quit my job and it still shows my Sim at work although she is at home. I cleared my cache and thumbnails as well.

      Hi @thewaif99  - does the sim have the option to  "leave work early"? That is the only way I've found to clear the error. You might have to wait until the sim's actual working hours, then click on the briefcase icon on their portrait and choose "leave work early". Hope this helps.

    Im having the same problem. I’m not super advanced with computer things- any simple fixes?

      A long time ago it happened to me, usually after a patch if your sim goes to work from a visiting lot, weather you return home from visiting lot before patch or not.  When the sim left the lot for work with not being a active Sim, they will just simulate work at home and what you are seeing is them working, but they never left the house, because that is how npc's do it when they are not being visited by sims.  Anyways to fix the problem go to another lot with any sim  and select the family member that is at work, but at home and he will return to normal.  If the Sim is saved in a state of work when a patch comes and he went to work while the home lot was not active this is when the bug happens.
