Turning off autonomy actually fixed it for me.Thank you @everinm
I was on a lot (with a pool) where my Sim couldn't eat - it started throwing LEs as soon as my Sim started using the pool and got much worse when she tried to eat something. Then I remember reading about it on the official forums and looked for this thread.
I tried changing the pool a bit, but it didn't work. Turning off autonomy seems to do the trick - I did go through a loading screen or two, but I don't think that would make the difference.
With autonomy off, my Sim could eat withough LEs popping up. And she's also able to read (I didn't try that before, but just saying).
While it may not completely fix it, it seems like a feasible workaround to me.

I tested this on a few lots that had the issue with the new patch and they all seemed fine now.
SImGuruModSquad also says this is supposed to be fixed: https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/comment/16880150/#Comment_16880150
