[FIXED] Sims can't cook/can't use fridge

Since this has become a fairly common problem which is not reproducible, I like to get some info from those affected. Symptoms Sims can't use the fridge to cook. When told to cook, the money is...

    Going to mark this as solved cause lately all reports have been mod related.

As per some instructions, I would never recommend changing the name of the User folder. On PC or especially a Mac. This can cause serious issues with file inheritance.

    The instructions with renaming the user folder is to let the game create a fresh one to find out if it's a corrupt file causing the error.

    It's been a safe method ever since Sims 3. Not sure about macs of course but I never heard that it causes issue. Could you elaborate a bit ?

    The suggestions on the first page is really all I have for the moment. It issue persists, it could also be a mod or cc causing it.

    LordNikon428 - the recommendations to rename the user folder refer to the game user data folder in Documents > Electronic Arts > The SIms 3/The Sims 4, NOT the user's Home folder on the Mac.
