Going to mark this as solved cause lately all reports have been mod related.
Since you say the error comes back for you after a while, would you mind sharing your save game to see if the devs can duplicate the issue ?
To do so, upload the savegame to a file sharing site like mediafire or dropbox and PM me the link.
You can zip the entire folder documents\electronicarts\thesims4\saves and then just let me which savegame/Family is affected
