[FIXED] Sims cook but don't autonomously eat/ cook more/ eat quick meal instead

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Place sims in Asylum challenge and allow them to prepare and eat foods. The lot I am using is English Simmer Asylum (40x30 size). Sim traits -> Sim1 = Perfectionist, Erratic, Art Lover -- Sim2 = Neat, Erratic, Squeamish -- Sim3 = Erratic, Loner, Evil -- Sim4 = Good, Loner, Erratic -- Sim5 = Vegetarian, Cheerful, Erratic -- Sim6 = Romantic, Hot Headed, Erratic -- Sim7 = Paranoid, Erratic, Evil -- Sim8 = Gloomy, Erratic, Evil.
What happens when the bug occurs? Sims are preparing foods, but not eating what they prepare. Some foods spoil, because they're left sitting on the counter. Sims are eating things other Sims prepare, and eating quick meals after they've prepared something.
What do you expect to see? I'd like to see Sims prepare a specific meal, and eat what they prepare
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? On console - never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. This behavior began after I installed the latest Sims 4 update

During a 24-hour Sim day, I had 8 Sims prepare food, but not eat what they prepared.  I also saw Sims eating prepared foods they didn't cook, and leaving some food sitting on the counter until it spoiled.  During this same 24-hour period, Sims would prepare multiple meals and then eat a quick meal such as chips, crackers, or yogurt.  Not one sim prepared a specific meal and then eat it.

Here is the list of what I saw:

After this 24 hour period, not only did 2 meals spoil, but I also saw 2 meals left sitting on the counter, and no one touched them.  I am attaching a PDF copy of this spreadsheet.

One workaround I found is to replace the refrigerator with a cooler
