Sims will no longer autonomously donate money to charity.
- But they still feel good about doing it.
This was addressed in Patch 1.32.1
As an update to this, I happened to notice when I was playing yesterday that donating on the computer did not have a green thumbs up as a club activity even though I was in an active club gathering which has be friendly to others as a club activity.
I then went and checked a Sim family I have living in San Myshuno who also has be friendly to everyone as a club activity and there happened to be a protest going on in their neighbourhood. I had one of them go down to make a donation to the protesters while in a club gathering, and while the option to donate is under 'friendly', it also did not have a green thumbs up beside it. Other friendly interactions do have green thumbs up beside them. Also, I've not had anyone autonomously donate to protesters, either in a club gathering (with 'be friendly' as a club activity) or not in a club gathering. I was under the impression that approved activities have green thumbs up beside them and that's how you can tell they are approved club activities.

We just have some further questions on the autonomous donations.
Did you perform a donation interaction prior to the autonomous donation? Did this happen with multiple sims, or just the one? How often did this issue occur?
I didn't donate recently, but since it's a save game that is more than two years old, I may have done so at some point in the past. I'm almost certain it happened with multiple Sims, but it doesn't happen very often, I can play several Sim-weeks without it happening. I wasn't sure whether it was intended or not so I didn't really pay much attention to it, but I'll make sure to report it if it happens again.

Only one Sim did the autonomous donation and she did it twice, the second time was a few Sim days after the first time. I did not have them do any donation interactions as they had very little money. She has not done this since, at least that I have noticed. FYI, the computer she did the donation on was glitched (it had come from a previous apartment where I had selected 'keep furniture' and it did not give Sims the option to purchase medicine or upgrade parts); that computer is now in their family inventory and has been for a while (this glitch has been reported in a different thread).

i've been having this problem regardless of which family i play as, the traits they have, their aspirations, etc. It happens quite frequently, almost every sim day and it isn't small donations - it's quite big ones (which sucks because my family only has 3,000 or so in the bank rn and she's donating 1,000 every so often.) I haven't made any of my sims donate, they just do it themselves - without prompting. Is this is a bug? Or-? I've read through a lot of forms and it isn't just me still facing it):
