I am having a similar problem. I noticed it only (but always after) happens when the get famous job popups occur. It has now happened to three of my families in varying levels of severity. The first family the Goth's, Bella received one of the fame job popups that I dismissed. When she came home from work, she had a greyed out icon. I had her quit her job and then get a new one and the problem was solved. When I was playing with the Zest family, I got another fame job popup. I picked the fame option. Johnny came home, but his icon is showing that he is still at work. I am unable to access his inventory, but I can move to different lots. I haven't fixed his greyed out icon yet. Lastly the Landgraab's, Geofrey received a fame job popup that I dismissed. He received a greyed out icon as well. Since it was the same as Bella's I quit his job. Then I put him in university to try to get a degree and his job back at the point he had. He then got the greyed icon again! I couldn't get him to do anything, so I went to a different lot with him and Nancy. At the new lot Geofrey went to Uni and was stuck there until he died of starvation.... Is the only way to fix this bug to quit the job? If I quit and get a new one is the bug going to "mutate" like the Landgraab instance? Or was that just a poor luck scenario?
