What is your current game version number? 1.77.146
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? EP: GTW, GT, CiL, S, C&D, DU GP: Strangerville, Parenthood SP: TL
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? You can put your sims on the first floor, and then move yourself to the second floor. When you click something on the second floor, like the computer for instance and click "browse web", wait for your sims to come. Your sims will never come to the second floor to use the computer. The solution is you have to move yourself to the first floor, and you can see your sims just start to step up the staircase. They move only and if only your screen is focused on them.
What happens when the bug occurs? As explained above. Sims move through the staircase if only the screen is focused on the origin floor where sims depart. If your screen is on the destination floor, your sims will never move through the staircase.
What do you expect to see? I want things to get back to normal like it was before. Sims can move through the staircase even though the screen is not focused on them. I don't use any CC and Mods, and have already had the game repaired through origin.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. This happened from patch 1.77.131 onwards

Thank you very much for posting this!

This is extensively reported about in a thread titled "[OPEN] Sims not visible to player teleport /abort interactions" which I started some time ago.  I apologize for not linking it; I don't want to link incorrectly or inappropriately -- but it might reassure you to know that an EA Representative in that thread has said they're aware of this issue and working on a fix.

And to whoever else it may concern (lol):  If I should stop "tagging" the threads (that reiterate this issue) with my responses, please tell me.  I am doing my best to be helpful, but maybe it isn't helpful and I don't want to clutter the forum!

    Thank you for the notification.

    This glitch is really frustrating as it makes houses with many stories become unplayable. 

    I also realize that it has been 3 weeks since you posted about this glitch but the fixes are not available yet.

    Hope they work really fast to solve this problem

      Yeah.  It's been a while.  It is starting to feel like a long time.  I'm not playing during this entire period; I can't tolerate the amount of extra work that goes into the game with this glitch; and as you point out, it makes multilevel houses awful.  The one consolation is that they're aware and working on it, and I am assuming they may be waiting to put out the next update with a TON of fixes for a number of these major issues.

        Due to the frustration of that glitch, I have tried every possible way including lowering the in-game setting.

        I usually play in Ultra setting, and just several hours ago, I tried to playtest it in High setting.

        The game just ran more smoothly and no more glitch relating with the stuck-in-the-staircase.

        Please try this yourself by lowering the game setting and inform me whether it is a success or no.
