Hey,
Having an issue with Sims never using the right sink, it's getting pretty ridiculous and wasting time. When they go to the bathroom, instead of washing their hands in the sink that's in the room, they either use another bathroom's sink or the kitchen's sink. Same when they want to wash dishes, they sometimes use bathroom's sink instead of the kitchen's one that's next to them.
Why do they do that ? I'd understand that they can pick the wrong sink if that one is closer to them than the one you'd expect them to use, but sometimes they even go downstairs to wash their hands even though they had a perfectly fine sink next to the toilet upstairs !
Does anyone know where does this come from, or even how to fix it if there's a way to do so ?
- 3 years ago@Edahel I'm having this issue too, it's really annoying.

@Edahel @AlexMorr19 Hey there! This has been an issue for a very long time. There really doesn't seem to be a specific reason that is consistent. However, some have suggested that sims may prefer whichever sink is "nicest". Perhaps the sink downstairs is more expensive? lol
Another thing you might want to check is if there are any routing obstacles. Have you placed any objects around the sink you want them to use? It's possible they are somehow obstructing your sims path. Even lighting that is too low and placed above a sink may prevent them from using it.

It started after HSY, someone in a previous reply said it happens when there's 4 or more sinks on the lot. The last lot I tested this in was a mansion, so there were 5+ bathrooms. Since I've been playing R2R, I never have more than 2 bathrooms, and have not had sims use the toilet in 1 bathroom and then go to another to wash their hands. I can't guarantee that's a fix because the new fear system is so borked I'm using cheats and spamming fear-be-gones to remove fears 2-3x a sim day on each sim in my household. I don't know if that can/is affecting other bugs.

You know, until it was pointed out that it happens mostly on lots with 5+ sinks I didn't count the sinks. And yeah, on the lot that had 2.25 baths (have a shower in a curtained off corner of the basement, no sinks) that it was driving me crazy in, I do have five sinks [main bathroom sink, kitchen sink, mudroom sink, and the upstairs bathroom has a Jack and Jill vanity so 2 sinks in 1 bathroom). I just moved my 5 star celebrity / millionaire sim to a 4 bathroom house so probably won't see any improvements.

I will add that I have noticed that having a sink directly across from the toilet seems to cause no issues, while a sink next to the toilet causes the sim to walk to the furthest reaches to wash up.
