I have an issue with the Books, when they read a book (including Skill books), they tend to stop reading it although I haven't canceled the action. One example is that I had Rebecca read a skill book and she suddenly stops reading it. I had this occur with the regular books where the Sim will stop reading before it's finished and/or if it's time for Work. I should note that there's nothing wrong with their Needs or Work hours which would cause them to stop reading, I also have no Mods/CC. This makes the goal to Read 3 Books really difficult to do since the Sim will stop reading it. Likewise, this makes it hard to get Sims to build skills from the skill books because he or she will usually stop reading it. I'm not sure what causes it but I think I might had this happen before the February update.

I have similar problem. Currently i play get together. I create a new group to hang out at library. The club do list is - read，write， be friendly. The strange things happen is the sims just pickup a book for a second ， then put down on floor and pickup another one ， then put down again. Just one hour later， the library floor and table fill with books and actually they havent sit down enjoy books nor talk.I have tried repair the game, put save folder etc to destop and reset games. Its happen continuously like this in group.Edit remarks： i never use any mod

This is supposed to be fixed in Patch 1.16.61 Taking feedback before marking it as solved and removing from the list

@crinrict , I'm seeing mixed results in my save. This is a save that had not been played since February that I went back to a couple of days ago. Background info since this feedback isn't from a newly started game. 1. I had a sim read a book at the library in WC. She read the whole book from start to finish. 2. Told a sim to read a book on the home lot. She started the book at a table, got up and turned on the stereo, read for a short time more and put the book back on the table. She had more interest in the "listen to music", which I hadn't put in the queue, the game did. When I clicked on the book it wasn't saying "reread", still showed just "read" option. I told her again to read it and this time she did without breaking from the task, even though I didn't cancel the "listen to music". Edited to remove reference to reading in club situation. That's a different thread.

This should be fixed (except for club gatherings). Is your game updated and did you remove any mods you might have ?

This one is literally driving me crazy. I have to queue multiple times on the book and hover over the sim to get them to sit still and read it.

It appears that this issue is still present as of version 1.5/Get to Work. While the later milestones had their goals fixed, the first milestone still has issues with Sims stop reading books, even skill ones.

Same issue only mine would do it chat with a townie. Mind you I have all my sims as "puppets". They have no freewill to stop things on their own unless it's a need, fire, or needing to go to work. It's aggravating because I'm trying to level up my handiness high enough where they can tinker since things breaking is a rare occurrence in my game so I can't level it up that way.

Lord yes! I was just playing last night and it drives me crazy. It takes so long to finish a book because of it.
