- Sims no longer receive a ""Break-Up"" Want when they have a High Romantic Relationship with that Sim.
Fixed in Patch 1.108.289/1.94

@lamebabe Unfortunately I never found a solution to this problem and currently I am playing my game right now totally different sims they just moved in together have been living in their new home in the new world since a week after their high school graduation and once again the break up with want has popped up 🙄 I’m just ignoring it but it’s really sad when it says they fell out of love but have full relationship bar and then one of their other wants is to get engaged
I think this is another unintended consequence of their not making the new wants & fears system backward compatible. If you create Sims with traits and likes that are from anything other than base game or high school years, those traits/likes become unavailable for the wants to pull from. So they'll be left with listen to music - something a lot of people complained about appearing too often - and the handful of situational ones they made. The description says "from being romantic partners" - so if you have Sims that are romantic partners, this want gets added to the pool of possible wants. And when it rolls your wants randomly pulling from the pool of possibilities, and that pool is shallow...
Other than the location low need wants (read a book at the library, sleep when exhausted, etc) the only wants I ever saw on non-base-game Sims before turning wants & fears off were "listen to [type of music]" and then either "flirt with" every random acquaintance they met if not in a relationship or "break up with" if they were.
@PipMenace I have noticed that the listen to music want pops up a lot as well, but i found a small solution to that one is that i just don’t let them like any type of music and it seems to come up less. That’s a shame that these wants are tied to the whole wants and fears system, so the only way to make them stop is to basically turn wants and fears off all together? That’s frustrating because I like to play based off my sims wants and skills. I hope that will be looked into by the next patch because I can’t turn wants and fears off
@PipMenace currently my female sim is a genius geek and loyal and with the growing together pack she got neat and she also has good manners compassionate and one other of the bonus traits from parenthood and her bf malcolm still has his traits he starts out with evil snob and i believe his last one is art lover and with the growing together pack he earned self assured and active.
Currently he’s working his way through the criminal career and she’s in university for computer engineering but her main trait is programming and a little video gaming. She used to roll a lot of wants having to do with programming or playing games but I think once i took her likes off for programming and video gaming she stopped rolling wants to program or hack. I guess the only work around is to maybe try putting all her likes back so then she will have to pull from that instead of always wanting to break up with Malcolm. Thankyou for the idea.
