If my sim is cleaning one dish, he/she will use the dishwasher. If the sim is told to clean-up and there are multiple dishes, he/she picks up one dish, puts it down, picks up another dish, puts it down and so on and so on and so on till the command times out. Dishwashers for me are worthless. Is there any way to fix this? I already tried to remove all sinks, thinking there is a routing problem, but that doesn't help. I also removed any mods that address cleaning or dishes, also no improvement.

i can confirm that my sim when asked to clean up a single plate she put it right into the dishwasher
For me, its not an issue sink over dishwasher. For me, if there are multiple dishes, the sims are unable to pick the dishes up at all. They pick the dish up, put it down, pick up the next one, put it down and so on until the command times out. If there is one plate, the sims are able to use the dishwasher.
side note to add if the dishwasher is in use and if a Sim finds a glass/plate they will use a sink (stands to reason of course)

Always or since yesterday's patch ? Any mods in your game ?
Will have to get back to you. Wasn't informed there was a patch. Loading it now. I don't think my sims have enough to buy another dishwasher, but will let you know.
