[FIXED] Successful lineage Issues

Hello!

My sim has had this aspiration for a while. I´ve completed 2 aspirations with my child daughter and 1 with my teenage daughter and none of them has ticked this one off.

Is there something I´m doing wrong here? I dont´t want to cheat in the completion, even if I should, cause I completed it by now, many times over.

    The Successful Lineage aspiration (within the Family category) will no longer fail to recognize if a child had previously completed the skill and aspiration requirements of the 3rd and 4th step.
    • Getting a child to do “work” once is tough enough, getting them to do it a second time… I’d suggest hitting up the kid exchange for a trade in.

    You can use the cheat aspirations.complete_current_milestone

    I am having the same problem.  This aspiration has failed to complete for my Sim despite all three of his children completing multiple childhood aspirations!

    The Have a child earn an "A" in high school and have a child complete an aspiration are totally backwards. It should be the other way around, but if they were checked off automatically it wouldn't matter. But automatically check off doesn't happen with the family aspirations for some reason or other as does the other aspirations. Really when are they going to fix this? Having to use a cheat to get past this is unacceptable.

    I am having the same issue. I tried the instructions for  using the cheat to complete the aspiration, and it didn't work. The box to type in opened correctly, but the game didn't respond to it in any way. Is the cheat different, maybe, on a mac? I don't have any mods or any other significant changes, although I am having issues with my Sims not staying put, even when paused, when I save them - in spite of using a separate save file just for them.  Is there anything else I can try to get the aspiration fulfilled?

    I just saw this as well. Unmodded, fresh install, new save file. Two children had multiple aspirations complete both as children and adults. I adopted a third child and completed an aspiration with her as a child and still nothing. With the child aspiration not triggering, also the career ladder did not either (Painter/Master of Real). I did end up using the cheat, but that always makes me sad.

    well it's not fixed can't just mar things fixed sounds like Ubisoft dev lol anyway this Aspiration doesn't complete even when my kids reached top of the career...

    Locking this thread for necro as it's 7 years old and was fixed at the time.

    A lot has changed since 2017.

    Please create a new thread if you still have issues.

    Please be specific as to which career you tried (sometimes new ones are left out).
