[FIXED] Tilapia and Catfish

Just did further testing and this affects Rainbowfish as well. It certainly makes Fishing more profitable to be able to catch sturgeon, treefish, batfish, etc. more frequently, but this seems like a definite bug. I just jumped back to 10 and am now unable to get Tilapia and Rainbowfish from the waterfall at Sylvan Glade.

This would explain a lot towards why my fishing collection isn't yet complete given how many hours I've invested in various locations around the maps.

I did not add Tilapia to my collection until I added a new sim to my household and he started fishing and got his fishing to 4 or 5 last night or so. I have had catfish forever somehow and am quite certain I stopped catching it because I remember in the gardening guide you mentioned catfish for fertilizer and thought great I'll look for that but never saw more than the one or two I initially caught.

I dont have any problems catching Catfish. Just use the Bluebell Plant as bait. You should catch plenty of them. Also time of day seems to affect what type of fish you can catch. Try fishing during evening or at night. Good Luck.

I couldn't get catfish on the same spot others did, but I did it on another spot.

Seems that the game randomizes spot for each new household.

I've posted about it on official Sims 4 forum and added pics. Catfish I caught in Oasis Springs (pond by the road, bait was an apple), Tilapia dropped in Sylvan glade soon after.

While randomizing fishspots maybe isn't bug, something else "fishy" is going on there.

I was fishing in Sylvan Glade before for hours and Tilapia didn't drop. I had level 10 fishing so it wasn't that the requirement was lacking.

Also, as I've posted in the thread, once I caught Tilapia, the game didn't fill my collection instantly, that pic I'm bringing here:

I had to switch to play my other household sim and send him on another map spot till the game sorted all fish properly and admitted I've completed fish collection.

Also, unlike other collections, I haven't received any plaque or something in the mailbox, don't know if it's intended.

Here's something odd I noticed about pomegranates. 

On my 'main' / first sim, I never fished one up, and when I had fishing 10 I was not able to go back to the pond and catch one after many full 'days' of fishing with or without bait.

Second sim, fishing 5/6 comes along and he catches one within 3 casts at the pond. Then he proceeds to catch 2 more over the next fishing trip while the other sim hasn't caught any yet still (I have not attempted lowering her skill to see if it matters, his is now about 6). 

It could just be rng being rng, I played wow long enough to know how rng can affect farming efforts, but it's just a bit silly to me given the disparity of time spent. I know rare is rare, but ... blah.

I can believe the randomizing of fishing spawns though, that'd be interesting... 

Because I caught my Tilapia elsewhere, I can't remember entirely but right now I'd swear it was near the 'golfcourse' spots in Oasis, again on my lower leveled fishing sim. I remember being confused as to why I hadn't caught all the common fish yet and then he comes along and gets it right away. Now that he has the doesn't-need-sleep aspiration reward, I'm going back to more 24hr+ fishing trips so I'll see what I can find. 

Should have recorded things from the beginning but I don't tend to bookkeep what I catch where.

I rarely catch this one but just picked one up at the Sylvan Glade. It is the first one this sim has caught. He is at level 7.

Ok so the tilapia was last fish I needed so I had my two sims fish at the waterfall for like 2 days and nothing. I added a sim to the household, got him to level 4 and he caught it within minutes of being level 4. It popped up and said "You've completed the fish collection." A few minutes later I looked at the household collections and it said I still hadn't found the tilapia. And my sim didn't have it in his inventory anymore. So yeah. I'm a bit pissed.

Interestingly enough, my Sims don't have trouble catching the catfish, and catch the odd tilapia as well - but cannot catch the piranha or the shark.

All four Sims in my household are maxed out in their fishing skill and have completed the fishing aspiration as well. Yet I cannot catch those two fish. I have tried every kind of fish as bait at every fishing spot, tried frogs and plants also - spent eight or so *realtime* hours just fishing, but I cannot catch those two fish. Not certain if this is the same bug - but it's sure frustrating!
