Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Open the phone and try to adopt a child.
What happens when the bug occurs? The sim walks to the end of the lot and resets. No household funds are lost. The adopted sim does not join my household.
What do you expect to see? The sim walks to the end of the lot, fades out, and returns with the adopted sim after decreasing the household funds.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.

Please describe the patch or change you made. The issue occurred after the latest game patch. My game is fully updated.
When I spawn in, I am getting a pop-up about bills. The amount of money is off and the game date is on Friday.
