the only reliable fix i've seen for this is to uninstall high school years so this is very much an issue with that specific update.
Marked as Solution for Visibility. This is still an open issue.
Hello.
EDIT: For anyone seeing this issue with saves that never had mods or custom content installed, would you be willing to share your entire \Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\ folder?
Videos showing the issue may also be helpful.
Instructions on how to share saves/videos are here:

So for the longest time I didn't think I was affected and tbh I am still unsure BUT I noticed upon loading in that although the time and everything else was normal, Molly (I am playing with the prescotts to test all the new stuff) is having a graduation AGAIN next sunday, even though she already had one. (There is a graduation photo in their living room to prove it.) Also my calendar is bugged in general, in that prom will not show up but will still trigger, city living festivals don't show up until the day of etc.

This is my save. It is UNMODDED, new cache, repaired prior to the bug etc. Mods have NEVER touched this save. I really don't think mods are causing this issue.

There was a thread for this problem for both Modded PC's and NON modded. But now its gone. That's not fair! Anyhoo, the only solution I found as a WORKAROUND is to save my progress like every 2-3 minutes. Eventually one of the saves stick. Or if it doesn't and it reverts back I only lost a couple of hours of game play as apposed to a whole Day or Two. For those who are building you may loose a small amount of build time but not your WHOLE build. Feel Me? Hope this works out for you. I really want us all to be able enjoy our game that we pay good money for.

they moved the modded thread to the mod issues section and split the unmodded discussion here to help track it better. I am 100% certain at this point it's not a mod issue, HOWEVER they really really DO need UNMODDED saves to track this. Saves that had never touched mods. Games that never had mods installed even once. Because having mods in your game even if they aren't causing problems skews their debugging tools. (Note for example the millions of LEs people have that name installed mods even if the mods aren't doing anything but because they exist, it shows up in an error log.)
- 3 years ago@SimQARobo Hiii i am watching this issue for a month or so, is there some update or a fix or at least closer to it? It is really unplayable and not worth the money people pay for it, this is too basic of an issue that should not happen with game as big as this. Not after launching new ver. that should be tested..

Hello @K41R4B
The team is still investigating this. It would help if we had more unmodded saves to look at.
- 3 years ago@SimQARobo I would but firstly, I dont know how to do that, and secondly, in a fit of rage I have uninstalled the game and everything with it.
