[FIXED] [V] Grand Master Vampires can no longer compel Sims for a drink

Thanks for your offer to help much appreciated.

I am happy to upload a saved game if I can work out how to do it properly. Since this problem started I added a motive mod because it made playing grand vampires pointless as I cannot get the thirst bar up with properly with plasma packs and plasma fruit alone so do you need a save prior to mods or after mods or does it not matter?

A save prior to the Mod would be more helpful. Were you playing with any Mods when the issue first happened?

No, a mod for motives was the first mod I ever added to my sims 4 game after the problem with Grand Vampires being unable to compel for a drink and it becoming too difficult to just use plasma packs/fruit to keep the thirst bar up. I also tried allowing a fresh folder to generate and added my saved games folder back to see if it made a difference but it did not.

When I go to my saves folder there are a lot of files so could you please explain how I identify the save I want to upload as I have no clue looking at all those files.

If that’s a problem I can try a fresh folder working a vampire up to Grand master without mods than send those files but that will take me a little longer to complete but I do not mind if you think that would help more?

If you know the last date you played that save sorting by the Date Modified column may help. If you can't remember when you downloaded the mod maybe check your download folder and see the date modified on the mod file. This may give you a clue as to when you last played  the game unmodified.

While I only play 2 families vampire included my saves folder is massive and while I have numbered my saves and have an idea of the date I added the mod I tried to go back into game to play the save from the options menu to make sure I am sending you the right save however the game will not allow me to load/play old saves? Can you tell me please if I remove all saves and load a clean 4 folder and add back a save at a time will that work to check which game it is?

Also, when searching for the save file there are 2 files the same name? Is that correct or should there only be one?  do I require both these save files for that saved game to load?

I apologise because I am more used to playing and know more about series 2&3 than I do 4 and I have attached a pic of the 2 files in the save folder I am talking about.

If all else fails would you mind waiting while I start with a clean game folder and work one vampire up to a grand vampire so I know I have a correct game file/save

What error are you getting when you try to load the old save? In theory a fresh folder should work but it does depend on the error.

The fact there are 2 files of the same name is fine. Send us both and that's okay. As long as you can give us the name of the family we should be looking at or the general location where they live or some clue as to the impacted sims we can figure it out.

Those look like the right files. We don't mind waiting or if you want to send us a couple of the files around the time that would also work. Thanks again for your help.

To try play my previous saved games I go into the options menu, then save as option, then scroll down my saved games but when I try and choose a save to play I can only re-save or delete? If using a fresh folder could complicate things, then if I take all may saves out of my current folder and test the 3-4 I think are the right game files will that work or can you let me know how I can load an old save when in game directly.

I tested 4 save games last and I think I know which game it is because refusals are being given to both vlad and my own vampire sim, but then suddenly around one out of 4-5 sims would accept the compel so I am not certain what is going on. (although I think 4 refusals against 4-5 sims is still too much) I am currently trying to get another vampire up from master vampire to grand to see what happens when that sim is levelled up but it's taking a little time to achieve and but I want to see if the same thing happens when they reach Grand Vampire. I am out most of the day so will start again when I get home.

So it is not always failing now? What is the relationship with the sims you are trying to compel?

I found what I thought was the correct save game where it started going wrong which I think is an auto save however,

As I have not played vampires since Grand Masters could not compel anyone I tested this save as thoroughly as I could in the time I had and directed my vampire try to compel 10 sims for a small drink and out of 10 3 were compelled which was definitely not happening before it was 0 success which leads me to believe I still have not found the correct game save re this problem.

The message in game from the sim on failing to compel

This sim recently resisted being drank from

All sims my vampires (including Vlad)  were trying to drink from were acquaintances with red showing in the relationship bars from a small to large amount. The ask permission for a drink has never worked in game for me even with a high relationship bar.

I tried assessing the refusal sims traits but they were all different with no noticeable pattern.

The above is only happening with Grand Vampires (including Vlad) all other Vampires can compel 100% of the time..

I have also developed another problem now when testing this save as the thirst bar starts to fill when drinking and then goes all the way back down after drinking to where it was before.

I have attached 2 pics the first pic shows a normal compel action with the green mist vampires use which goes towards the face of the sim being compelled. (this is normal for when the compel works)

The second pic shows how the green mist goes towards the floor when a compel is not going to work if that makes sense.

This game is so bugged for me now and I don’t want to send a save game with multiple bugs so if you do not mind waiting a little while longer I am going to start a new folder and just play a vampire until he/she reaches Grand Master and see what happens as before Vlad had no problem compelling Sims until after my own vampire made in CAS had levelled up to Grand Master himself so I am trying to reproduce what is happening without any mods or other bugs getting in the way.

I really want to resolve this problem and have spent my available free time trying to test and re-test my saves so I will go as fast as I can  trying to level up my new vampire to try and gain some further insights.

Thank you for your assistance @sparky1922. Feel free to send on any save even if there are other bugs. However if you do prefer to send a save your happy with there is no rush and we will investigate it when we receive it.
