Changing back to open for now.
Just an update to my previous post. I started the brand new game today and had the same problem with the Pop venue speaker not playing the custom music. The residential wall speakers do play it without a problem, just as they did in the existing save. Hence, starting a new game made no difference in the venue speaker not working.
@dolldrms1 Do you know if the residential one was working before ? Wonder if nothing was fixed or just that one
@crinrict , the residential wall speakers were working before the patch. I've had them placed in both a home and a community lot for months and had the Pop custom music piece play just fine since I put it into game. Therefore, I see no fix at all.
I just looked at the patch notes again and they say: Custom music now plays as expected on all venue speakers! That isn't the case in my game.
In mine neither. I wonder what they patched ...
@crinrict , me, too. If they "fixed" something that wasn't broken, that was rather a waste of time, lol. I would be an unhappy dev but then again, I would be unhappy if I "fixed" something and it didn't hold during patch delivery. I just don't want them to take it off the list to look at, thinking it was taken care of.
What I find very strange is my custom music was working at one of the clubs I created (I believe the pop speakers). But then when I placed custom music in my Electronica folder and went to the gym where I had the speakers they didn't play. I found this very strange. But i'm hoping the issue is fixed. I think I'll try was a previous poster mentioned about the tags then I will get back to ya'll. But it worked for me then it stopped working. Of course the home radios and speakers were never a problem for me it was always the venue speakers. but I'll keep ya'll updated.
Update: My mistake, The nightclub I have has Backyard Venues speakers and they are playing my custom music perfectly fine. I did Go ahead and use the program to fix my tags anyway and my songs are no longer written in U's it actually has the artists name, ETC. I haven't checked on the Gym I made with the Electronica Speakers but as I type I'm headed there to see. Okay so after unchecking the Simish music I've discovered that this place will not play my custom music For the Electronica Speakers. But It will play on the Backyard. don't know why it does it on that one and not the other. So maybe it is a bug?
As mentioned before, I only have one custom piece of music in pop, so that is the only speaker category I checked. I just checked in game and this time the venue speaker did play the custom music. For the pop venue speaker, the issue does seem to be fixed.
