[FIXED/MOD RELATED] Sims at home but not playable/Stuck in self-care mode

I know this is a old thread but I've been having the same problem is there any news on a fix?

Try if you can invite the missing Sims over with a Sims that's still at visible

  With the recent update, I was eager to continue playing my Sims 4 game again. To my surprise, my sims family was gone. I was at my sim family's house, but it said that they were all somewhere else. When I hovered over the name, it said "At home", yet I could not find them. You can find my evidence here. This goes with every family in my sims world. I also went back to my family of eight, yet only three were there and the other five were sent to purgatory along with my other sims.

@Gammie0324 Merged with existing thread. Bit unsure what you could do if all are that way but try switching active families, play with another one and then switch back.

     I switched my active families in the same save, and it worked! It only brought back one of my families, though. I went to a different family, then back to the one I played before the update, and they all spawned outside my house. Not sure if it would bring back any other sims, but it worked for now.

After the latest update my sims seem to be glitched it says they are at home and it says their caring for themselves, but i can't see them at home and there is no way to make them stop caring for themselves. Does anyone know how to fix this

If you have one Sim, you can try have him invite the other ones over.

Hey, what does "Care for Self" means? Why can't I manipulate my sims while in that mode? I don't know what to do...

I simply want to know how to get my sims off of care for self and have them show up so I can play them.  Whether its a new game or old my sims do not show up and are on auto care for self with limited actions when I press that option. 

Does anyone know how to get them out of Care for self mod and back to live mode??
