Game crashing when adopting animals

Game crashing every time you try and adopt and animal I have tried to adopt a cat 4 times and each time when the NPC Sim goes to show you your potential adoptee the game crashes. Corrupted my whole ...

I'm having the same issue. Every time I try to adopt a cat it completely crashes my game when the NPC turns up. It's very frustrating.
