[GF] Can't complete group goals for meet and greet event

I mostly just ignore goals like that. I make sure to complete the main goal, if there is one, and then concentrate on the goals that are easy to accomplish. 

I am unable to get a gold for the event if I ignore the group goals as I end up having at least 2 group goals. Is there anything else that can be done to achieve the gold reward?

Does the wording specify that it has to be in a group, or can it just be 3 sims dancing at the same time?

It says "have sims chatting at the same time 0/3" and "have sims dance at the same time 0/3".

When my sim is chatting with another sim, the 0/3 changes to 1/3 and it's still 1/3 when there are more sims chatting together. It's the same with the dancing where it just has 1/3.

I've also tried inviting other fans to dance to see if I can achieve the dancing goal but the other sims don't respond.

Are the other sims NPCs or members of your sim's household?

I generally play large households and for events and parties, I find it much easier to complete goals like that using household sims that I can control directly rather than the NPC invitees.  So, if your sim has other household members, you can try doing those goals that way.  If you are playing single sims though, that won't work.  Though for the Meet and Greet, I've found that the celebrity sim who scheduled the party has to personally complete some of the goals like the one to have 3 drinks.

So 3 different issues going on then

1. Can't form a group while event is going on

2. NPCs can chat, but goal doesn't tick off 

3. NPCs don't dance even if invited

Just to be sure, after you removed your mods, did you delete the local thumb cache file and do a game repair?

1. Groups can be formed but maknig the group dance or chat does not complete the goal (this has worked previously when my sims had a wedding).

2 and 3: Correct

I've repaired the game, removed all mods, and I have deleted the local thumb cache file.

I noticed in a sleepover event I had the other day that although sims would dance and chat, those goals were very slow to tick off. They may have taken an extra 30 sim minutes, or maybe not tucked off until the sims stopped dancing or chatting. It did eventually fulfill though so not the same issue

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Host a Fan Meet and Greet event. Have one of the goals being Have Sims Dancing at Same Time. Form a group with your sim(s) and fans and select Dance Together on a stereo pie menu.
What happens when the bug occurs? The goal does not complete, nor does it show how many sims are dancing
What do you expect to see? The goal should complete with 3 or more sims dancing at the same time.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

I found an old bug report which said this was fixed in patch 1.58, but it seems to be broken again. This is my second bug report for Fan Meet and Greets today. Neither this nor taking selfies with fans completed during a fan meet and greet at my sim's home.
