The main issue with starlight accolades is that this venue gets a lot of celebrity visitors that attend the ceremony.
When a celebrity enters a lot/room normal sims react with cheers and thought bubbles with his/her portrait.
The host, as a normal sim, gets distracted when they arrive and stops reading the nominees.
This topic is 2 years old, I have given up on any upcoming fix.
I've stopped achieving awards the normal way, I use cheats and make changes to the venue. I get 5-6 nice awards each time to display at home:
I'm on PS5 all packs and kits. My host arrives over 2 hours late. Takes almost an hour to stand at the mic and then only 1 or 2 people get their awards, just like another comment I saw. I have never had this issue before. I had a break from playing over the holidays, I was only logging in to do the special events. Now that I have time to play again, I started to go to the awards ceremony and it's frustrating. I have even tried showing up at 2 in the afternoon hoping it would give the game more time to decide to spawn the host. No deal.
For those that have a Host that is unreasonably late, try going to the lot and then going into CAS for a moment. I just did that and when I came out the Host was standing there waiting. I'm going to try it again the next Sim week and see if it works. I'll make and edit to this post to add information on whether it worked again.

What happens when the bug occurs? The host arrives late, sometimes just in time to say the Awards are over and goodnight.
What do you expect to see? The host turning up on time.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? On console - never used.

The host is sometimes just standing in the car park and behaving like a fan, they change every time even though the original host was Katrina Caliente and she's still in my game. It started changing to these random Sims and stopped working properly. My Sims are nominated but the event is so short there's rarely time for the awards. It's so frustrating to see them walk up to the mic just in time to say goodnight! I've even tried arriving there at 3pm to give extra time in the hope that will make a difference but it doesn't.
How I wish I could bring back Katrina she was so professional, isn't it a shame when the new host just doesn't measure up!
