As of May 2021 I am still having this issue, It seems that it can appear on any lot (any expansion) at random when building and happens to both windows and doors. The glass disappears and leaves just the frame of the door/window behind and the original wall it was placed on. It seems this can happen on any type of window/door (even base game ones).
I have always had this issue (even before I started using cc) so it is not cc related.

I am bumping this thread to express I am also experiencing this issue. Mods & MOO doesn't seem to be a factor.
This issue has been ongoing a long time. Hoping this can be added to the laundry list.
I'm also getting this on Xbox series S almost every time in build mode. As soon as I make a change, at least a couple of doors and windows will blank out leaving just a frame filled with wall. Every time I exit build mode I have to quickly scan round and click on the frames to bring them back.
It's become a bigger issue today as I'm in the city, redesigning the large 3 floor apartment (I changed it's name but I think it was called The Spire). Because it's an apartment where you can't edit windows, I can't click most of them to fix them. So I've just got window frames with wall inside them. Tried everything to fix it, I've shut it down for now and see if they come back on restart.
I had this bug on Xbox one too and funnily enough I also had it on the Xbox 360 with Sims 3 and Sims 3 pets and on PC too. Could this be one of the oldest Sims bugs?
