[GT] Sims cannot order from cafes

Question

Send a sim to any premade cafe and have them try to order a food or drink item. What happens when the bug occurs?  When my sim arrives at a cafe, there is a generated barista, but they are not behind the counter. If the sim tries to place an order for a food or drink item, the action disappears from the queue and sometimes they briefly t-pose. I tried resetting the barista sim, and they then went behind the counter, however the order interactions still could not be placed. The sim doesn't even move towards the cafe counter; the action just instantly disappears and the other is never placed. 
What do you expect to see?  I expect to see a sim place an order for a food or drink item and actually go through with the item and ultimately receive it. The action should not cancel out of the queue. Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods?  Not now. I've removed them.Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system?  Neutral/Not Sure&nbsp;

I'm uncertain for how long this bug has been around, because I only noticed it just last night, but I'm at a loss as to how to rectify the situation.&nbsp;

I thought perhaps this was mod related, but I removed all of my mods and the bug was still occurring. I then considered that maybe it was something in my builds or the family, so I sent different sims to different cafe lots, I tried different saves. The error still occurred. At this point, I repaired my game, but after that, the error was still occurring. Again, I tried it in new saves as well. Then I did a factory reset and tried a fresh game, brand new save, no cc or mods, everything fresh and the error still occurs.&nbsp;

I've tested bars and vendor stalls and they work fine, but it seems that baristas and/or the cafe counter seem to be an issue specifically.

The sims can interact with the barista and have conversations - they just are unable to place any orders and the action disappears from the queue.

I first noticed this bug last night while patched to 1.97.42.1030. I patched to 1.97.62.1020 earlier today and the error is still occurring. While I still had mods in my game, the sims would free and temporarily t-pose, but it doesn't seem to be occurring in the factory reset unmodded game. The sim does, however, just stand in place as the actions disappear from queue.&nbsp;

@LadyAshlie this has been an issue for a long long time. Baristas will get overwhelmed with the incoming orders and reset, cancelling all my sims orders. It's been like that for years.

At least it's better than before when they wouldn't even spawn in correctly - the game used to summon double baristas - the one standing in the middle of the shop would immediately leave and a new one would replace them. They fixed that, but it took years. Never fixed the ordering issues though.

@crinrict&nbsp;I looked at that thread, but I don't think so. I don't think my sims ever get as far as placing an order or even have a waiting for barista action in queue. I can try it again and see if I can catch it before it disappears and see if it says "waiting for barista". My sim doesn't even move towards the cafe counter; they just stay standing where they are, sometimes t-pose, and act like they are being reset. Likewise, if a cafe-related want appears - like order a food or drink - it will instantly disappear once it comes up. It seems like anything that has to do with placing an order immediately disappears from queue and the sim seems like they are resetting (unsure that they actually are, but it's the best way I can describe it).&nbsp;Likewise, it seems no sims are able to place an order - when I sent a group of sims to a cafe the first time, they all started to t-pose and act like they were resetting, no one even approached the barista unless it was just a regular chatting action. It looked as if sims at the cafe who were autonomously going to place orders kept having it dropped and thus the t-posing?&nbsp;I know in the past I've been able to use the cafe before, but it's been a while since I last actively played with one, so I'm not sure when this seems to have surfaced in my game.&nbsp;I'd also like to note, money is never taken, it's as if the action never even begins and just cancels out immediately (since they never go in the vicinity of the barista or wave at them or anything like they do at a bar).&nbsp;@simvasion&nbsp;That's interesting! I haven't actually had any issues before with baristas and cafes, so I was really surprised by this one! I thought it was because of a new mod I had tried out, but even with no mods in the barista and sims interacting with them behaved the same way - I'd never actually seen sims t-pose like that before! (At least not in TS4 haha.) With what you said, though, I wonder if the barista is the one canceling out the actions. At any rate, they definitely cannot interact with the barista in a way that deals with orders, but it seemed so weird to me that they were t-posing and seemed like they were being reset! I've definitely used the cafe before, too, but not recently, so I don't even know when this changed for me! I miss my well-behaving baristas lol&nbsp;

@LadyAshlie Do you have any LastException files in your documents folder ?

Best is to delete the ones you have, then trigger the error and check if new ones are created.
