I'm not entirely sure when this all happened, I came back after a little break and noticed it. I can't remember when I first noticed it, but it was right before the last update, and nothing changed after the update.
I've tried with all sorts of different clothing/hairs/etc., and even on completely naked Sims, and nothing works. I've tried using different save files. I've checked Sims in my gallery who I know where wearing shiny lipstick/nails but now they're all displaying as matte. Nothing has worked so far.

Right, that would help, wouldn't it? I even fiddled with them to test it but totally forgot to post them. Here they are:
Sims: Very High
Objects: High
Lighting: Low
Reflections: Low
Visual Effects: Medium
Edge Smoothing: Low
3D Scene Resolution: High
View Distance: High
And the only checked box is "uncompressed Sim textures."
I hadn't fiddled around with it before the issue so IDK why it would've changed, but who knows. I don't fully understand how each of these settings work so it's 100% possible it's a problem on my end.
