[GTW] Detective: Suspect doesn't match clues given

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
What is your current game version number? SP34: 1.assets.beta-sp34.24
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All of them
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Going through the detective active career, and finding an suspect
What happens when the bug occurs? When you get clues from a crime scene, then issue an APB the suspect does not match the description.
What do you expect to see? For the career to be as intended. You gather the clues and find the right suspect
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

With my current sim in the detective career, I have provided the screenshots below. After every case I delete all evidence because that previously caused a bug where I could not continue, and I had to quit the detective career and start over. So all the evidence gathered was from one crime scene. I issued an APB 10 times, and I got teen female sims the only thing that did not match was the hair color however, they had the same clothes, and traits. They were all innocent and had to be released. With this final time, I tested out arresting the first sim that appeared on the lot that did not match the clues except for the trait which was Evil. It was the correct sim and he was guilty.

Yes, I did test with out mods. I only use MCCC, but it still happened.

@xIceRose To be sure, you also removed MCCC ? Vanilla means, nothing in your mods folder.

Also be aware that clothing might not match depending where you are. The clues always refer everyday clothing so ask them to change into that.

Yeah no mods were active. This was a completely different sim. I posted a picture of the clues and than the sim that was guilty it was no where close to the actual clues except the trait. I deleted all previous evidence as well.

@xIceRose If you start a new save for testing purposes, can you duplicate the issue ?

Just to find out if it's save game or even Sim specific or a general issue.

Since you have all packs, that means you have Seasons which gave us hot and cold weather clothing categories.  Sims arriving on a lot usually are dressed in the appropriate clothing for the weather.  I have found playing the detective career, that the clothes won't match the clues if the weather is hot or cold out.  From what you described; I think this is what might be happening to you.  So, it pretty much comes down to using just the age, gender and hair color to find the right suspect a lot of the time.

    Hope this helps.

@CGrant56 Yes I usually looked at their everyday outfit, I had my sim ask them change outfits. So that isn't an issue. The issue is that my clue stated it was a young or Teen female but the suspect that was guilty was a adult male. And the hair color didn't match either.
  • Yes same issue here, there was only 1 sim on the whole lot who spawned, so not a hard guess who the guilty party is. But one of the clues was the suspect Hates Children which is not a trait the suspect had.

I have experienced a similar issue and in my case It was caused 2 MCCC issues.

    1. If you set the tray import for NPCs to 100% then it interferes with the suspects matching the case clues and a the case cannot be completed.
    2. If you use MCCC Dresser with a config file to automatically change outfits to a defined outfit list (like the Fashion Police mod)  it also disrupts suspects from matching the case evidence.

I have set my tray import to 50% and I've disabled automatic dresser changes and Cases resolve normally now.

I suspect that other mods that restrict NPC wardrobe and traits at creation may also cause the same issues.
