Horse not eating then being taken away

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Mac
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Occasionally (10% - 49%)
What is your current game version number? Whatever the most recent update is
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Everything except a few fashion kits
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Have a hungry horse not eat even with hay available.
What happens when the bug occurs? A horse gets hungry and despite 5 full feeders and several prairie grass areas chooses to not eat and then gets taken away for not being fed for too long. Usually while sim is at work.
What do you expect to see? My fully trained adult horses eating when necessary so they don’t get taken for letting them starve.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

This has happened to me 3 times now. A fully skilled out, adult horse (all three times a mare) just doesn’t eat when her hunger decreases. There have been 5 full feeders on the lot, and since I’m playing the prairie grass challenge plenty of wild grass on the lot but they just don’t eat suddenly. All others horses on the lot eat so it is not  a problem with the feeders. Usually this happens when my sim is off the lot for school or work and can’t go out and hand feed or coax them to a feeder.

too make it worse its always a horse who has maxed all 4 skills so not one I want to lose. I assume it’s a bug.

@PipMenace Yeah I think that's where I've definitely got an issue. He wouldn't nurse at all even when first born, whereas I didn't have that with the purchased foal and unrelated mare. As soon as the purchased foal met the mare he went to her to be fed but the newborn foal didn't do that with his birth mother. He just kept getting so hungry my Sim was constantly bottle feeding him, even during the night. He then nursed once after he'd already started eating hay/grass etc. I was so worried he'd be taken away, although I run a backup so I could get him back at least.
So maybe the Dazed feeling goes away with full needs and isn't linked to starvation 🤔 that's a good point.

This issue is still not fixed… Three horses got taken away from my lot one after the other. I had 10 full feeders and like 20 grass patches. And two of the horses had eaten right before.

I can confirm that this issue is the same as all the links you provided.
