Household sim turned into neighbor

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? This is the first time it has happened.
What is your current game version number? Latest, updated 7th of March 2024
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Horse ranch, tiny living, seasons, romantic garden stuff, realm of magic, parenthood, paranormal stuff, outdoor retreat, nifty knitting stuff, my first pet stuff, luxury party stuff, jungle adventure, holiday celebration, growing together, get to work, first fits, eco lifestyle, discover university, dine out, desert deluxe, cottage living, cats and dogs, bonus content *(from sims 3, I think)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I'm not sure, sorry!
What happens when the bug occurs? I have three sims, two cats, a horse and 3 mini sheep in the household. The sim has been marked as a neighbor, even though I can play as them. I can't shift click to add them to the household. The sim refuses to enter the house, complaining that they can't.
What do you expect to see? I expect the sim to be able to move through the house like normal.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them before this issue occurred.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Not sure, don't think so.

I saw someone else had the same problem and that it was patched out. I tried to repair my game multiple times, but no luck.

    Hi @iKestrelrandomly 

    This was reported fixed in a patch in December, so just confirming you have updated since then?

    Some things to try for now as a workaround that helped some people with the bug if I recall correctly:

    Travel with the affected sim

    Play another household then come back and play the affected one

    Move out of lot and back in

    Mailbox? Was this one of those that you could fix by deleting and replacing your mailbox?

    Hi!

    I just updated my game, just before posting here about the issue. It also updated after I bought some packs during the Lunar New Year sale.

    Things I have tried with no success:

    - Playing another household

    - Delete and replace mailbox

    Finally! I traveled with the sim, and after napping, they managed to return home and was a part of the household again. Thanks for the help!

    I just had this happen to me as well. One of the sims in my household keeps being marked as a neighbour, which blocks him from being able to pick up/care for his infant daughter. Travelling to another lot and back temporarily fixed the issue, but one in-game day later he was again marked as a neighbour. Trying to get these infant milestones is hard enough without one of the child's caretakers regularly becoming useless! Glad there's a workaround, but having to hop through two loading screens every in game day is not a viable long term solution, you know?

    I only have mcc command centre installed and some cc, the error is not being caused by either of these as I have checked already. I was playing my household that lives in san Myshuno and expectantly one of the sims in my household had the red neighbour nametag above their name and is unable to do any action I set them, I have reset them multiple times, reset the game and my computer and exited to the main menu. No matter what I do the game continues to see him as a neigbour despite him being in my household.
