it's 2023 now and I was just running a bunch of tests in the game with autonomy and throughout each new test in the game I ran if something breaks in the game household Sims will not choose to repair an object. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with skill level (both Sims in my test had zero skill in handiness as they were both newly created Sims.) I even gave them the liking handiness preference and they still didn't repair anything by themselves. Neighbors kept offering to repair objects but because they don't get autonomously invited inside without my intervention that also didn't work. I was testing autonomy and learned that for the most part Sims will take care of themselves but it's actually kind of surprising how little they do to help themselves when things actually go wrong.
