@CGrant56 Deleting the localthumbcache file only works temporarily. The trash piles on the beach which were already generated by the game can be removed then, but when new ones get generated the bug starts happening again. The trash piles in the water do not cause any problems. I do have mods in game, so I shall test out whether the bug also occurs in a vanilla save, but I don't know what exactly could cause this, since I do not have any mods which affect mermaids or Sulani. Will also test out whether this affects mermaids only or also other sims.

@pandaa094 @CGrant56 Pretty sure this is caused by the sleeping in water action. Mermaids can interact with trash piles just fine until the first time they sleep in the water. After sleeping in water, they can’t unless you delete the cache.
- 2 years ago@PipMenace I just had this issue as well; two Mermaids who slept in water before, and the reset object cheat only worked once on one of them (I tried that on both the trash pile and mermaid, but that was really the only time that worked). I deleted my localthumbcache file, and that solved it, at least temporarily. But a temporary workaround is definitely better than just having to deal with this bug.
