In-game icons are black

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? ###1.65.70.1520
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Legacy Edition, Get to Work, Island Living, Realm of Magic, StrangerVille,Vintage Glamour Stuff, Jungle Adventure, Spooky Stuff, Seasons, Cats and Dogs, Laundry Day, NIfty Knitting stuff, holiday celebration pack, vampires
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Go on the game and press play. The issue is there immediately
What happens when the bug occurs? All the in-game icons are black. All of them.
What do you expect to see? I expect to be able to see icons and not black squares.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. After I updated origin this happened immediately. I didn't expect an update to completely ruin my game but it did.

This issue happened right after the origin update. I use legacy. I tried to put in one mod to stop vampires hissing a while back because it annoyed me but i deleted it. I;ve also deleted sims 4 and all those folders from my computer and reinstalled it fresh - SAME ISSUE - BLACK ICONS. 

All the icons turned black after the update.

    Before recent update, deleting the files + entering create a sim even on fresh install would result in black icons.

    After updates, I reset my in-game settings back to default and deleted my saves from the in-game folder. I have started the tutorial for the game and my character still has their icon even after editing their appearance.

    I'm hoping this is a positive indicator.

    Future me is fairly pleased. The icons are back in the tutorial's live mode.

    @obsessiveAugur Same problem! Black boxes on map view. Repair game doesn’t help. Game also gets laggy around the same time the black box appears. I’m on a Mac
